Eurovision farce

Celine Dion is Swiss, she's not even European. I think she's Canadian. I am not very familiar with Eurovision but I thought it was more about the countries sending their best talent. Apparently, Celine Dion is a professional songtress-for-hire.

I just find it interesting that a Cypriot is representing Greece and an American is representing Cyprus. :)

yeah its weird but they're not strict on nationalities...shes an american-greek

i'm pretty sure paparizou who won last year, represented sweden a few years back when she was in the group Antique as she was born there.

for everyone talking about the corruptness. at the end of the day i think most countires let the public vote. if for example, i felt that norways song was better than greece or cyprus's i still would vote for greece or cyprus. people dislike certain countries for things they've done in the past and present and it shows in the voting sometimes.

usually i feel the best song wins, like paparizou last year. so just accept how it is and enjoy it for what it is. light hearted entertainment.

I dont think it is much about the singer as it is about the songwriters. So it doesnt matters who sings the song a cypriot wrote I guess.

I dont think the citizenship of the singer matters. In any way Anna Vissi has lived most of her life in Greece and I think she might have dual citizenship through marriage. As far as the voting question goes, I have no clue.
