Is homosexuality wrong?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Homosexuality is:

Perfectly normal. You wouldn't mind at all if your child was gay

Natural anomaly. It is not gays fault. They should be treated without any discrimination

Acceptable. But gays should not show off their 'gayness' especially in the presence of children

Tolerable. They can do what they want in their own bedroom but they should act as normal people outside

Wrong. It should not be illegal but they should not be accepted by society.

Evil. It should be illegal. I don't like them!

I would sooner have a 'good' gay neighbour than a 'bad' straight neighbour.

There should be no discriminations against gay people.

It doesn't matter if they were born gay or become gay, in the same way that it doesn't matter if a blind person was born gay or became gay.

While being gay might be something natural, gays having children is not. Giving children to gays would be something unnatural.

In the same way that we would not let a blind person to drive a school bus (even if non-blind persons could still have an accident anyways), I don't support the adoption of children by gay couples.

Other than that gays should be allowed to get married, work, and live in society without any kind of discrimination against them.

Do you think they will influence the child to become gay?

Is homosexuality against nature?

http://www.daltonator.net/durandal/reli ... lity.shtml

In conclusion, homosexuality is neither morally right nor wrong. It is simply an amoral act. It has no positive moral implications or negative moral implications. It is simply an act between two consensual partners of the same sex. It's morality is no different than that of the sex act between two consenting partners of the opposite sex.

Anyone can research also homosexuality in Ancient times including ancient Greece!

i personally dont think gay people can influence anyone, as i believe its not a choice to be gay. And i think gay parents can be good or bad parents same as in hetero parents. As long as a parent is providing a loving, caring environment, the parent's sexual orientation doesn't make a difference in the development of the child, but then also consider what if the emotional problems that afflict kids with gay parents are caused not by having gay parents, but by society's taboo against gay parenthood?

The Question here is somebody born gay or do they become gay?

Huge ask but should the answer to the above question influence the attitudes of the society or of individuals regarding the third sex?

Unlike straight people I dont think gay people would put any kind of pressure on the child as far as his/her own sexuality goes. But I do think that in Cyprus it would be very harmful to a kid to be raised by a gay couple considering the fact that it is not accepted in that society.

I have no problems with gays in fact some of my best friends are gay.

However, there is no evidence for a ‘gay gene’.

It has been proven that during the gestation period the level of certain hormones affect the sexuality of the baby. I can’t remember any details but I can try to find the research paper if you are interested.

Its just a research, since then several came to disprove it. To me it doesnt matter wether they were born with it or they just chose it. It's their right. But I do think everyone's sexual choices is their own and they shouldnt throw it in other people's faces. My best friend is gay, not hiding it, but he is a professional in suits. Where he works, the gay guys are trying to fight the dress code so they can wear skirts and dresses. Even he thinks thats too much.

define wrong

Postby reportfromcyprus » Sun May 07, 2006 7:40 pm

What do you mean by "wrong"?

It's such a broad question.

Wrong for what? Wrong for society, wrong for health, wrong for family?

And how are we interpreting the word wrong? As in, not right, not appropriate, disturbing, immoral, sinful, illegal?

If it's a moral question, then it's down to the conduct of the people in the relationship. If a gay man is unfaithful to his partner, it will hurt as much as a straight man being unfaithful to his wife or girlfriend.
