Hi, dizzy,

we have booked into the Tasiana complex which is about 2 streets away from the gardens. It is only a 2star complex, but have been in touch with them by email, and they have assured me that they are clean, comfortable but basic apartments, and only some of the rooms overlook the pool. I have read some reviews on these, some people say bad ,some say good, but everyone is different.

I am just grateful that we have still managed to book in limassol so that we see our friends, and that we are not miles away, and that it has not cost us any more money.(it was cheaper £300.00)

Good luck,dawn

Dawn,

It's also known by the tour operators as one of the worst performing accommodation units in Limassol.

ATLANTICA OASIS

Postby TIFF » Fri Jul 06, 2007 8:26 pm

I've been watching this website for 3 weeks now as we're going to this Hotel on 22.7.07, A/I with First Choice.
I updated my travel agent back then who got no joy from First Choice who kept saying the Hotel is due to open on 15.7.07.
Even when Thompsons and Olympic realised the score and started moving their clients First Choice ignored its customers relying on what the Hotel said.
Anyway my travel agent rang the Atlantica Chain yesterday (5th July) and they confirmed the Hotel is due to open on 25.7.07. My agent then rang First Choice back who still claimed not to have any knowledge of this new date. My agent suggested they rang the Hotel themselves but apparently no one at that time was in a position to do so. So now I wait for First Choice to catch up and contact my agent with something suitable.

hi Dawn

Many thanks for your reply, I will keep the complex in mind. All I need is a pool and clean accomodation to get some kip. It could be that even if the Atlantica Oasis is open in time - it might be way over my budget! I suppose I could always break in to my drinking money?!!!

Hi All

First Choice still have their heads buried in the sand, Phone calls again yesterday from me and travel agent, I phoned First Choice again , they said they would ring back, suprise suprise they did'nt, very frustrated now, rang hotel again last night very helpful lady confirmed (as per earlier email) that hotel complex completely closed NO FACILITIES AT ALL and is now scheduled to open on 31st August. Been in travel agents this morning, they also rang hotel, again confirming 31st August, then rang First Choice who said they will look into it. Now have very little faith in First Choice, but still determined to get moved before we travel 25th July.

When asking First Choice to look at forum, their reply is it's only chit chat and hearsay!!!

What a great company they are.

How about seeing if your tour operators will let you keep your flight and transfer arrangements then book into private accommodation? Not sure if they will but it's worth a try.

We know someone who always use the Santa Barbara apartment complex (a little further along from the Atlantica Oasis) just off the seafront past the small fairground and Macdonalds, close to the cinema and ten pin bowling. Its a nice, clean accommodation and Michael who runs them is extremely helpful. The apartments have TV with a satellite system (not SKY) and some channels in English, Video player, CD player, microwave, oven & washing machine. All have A/C units.

High season cost for a 2 bedroom apartment on a complex with bar, restaurant and large swimming pool was Cy£50 per night last year.

The website is http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation ... 18905.html

At least you know you will have accommodation guaranteed and will only be a short distance from where you originally planned to be.

Best of luck to you all.

We hav friends who are coming to stay at the Atlantica Oasis in early October so I'm watching this thread with interest too!

Hello to everyone who will be going to Cyprus this year. May I wish on behalf of my future wife and I you all have a great holiday!!!
We are due to be married in Limassol on the 25th of July, flying out there on the 18th and staying at the Atlantica Oasis. Or that is what we thought when we booked and paid our money.
Thanks to this forum I have found a wealth of information about the hotel’s condition through the building work currently being undertaken.
Armed with the evidence I went to Thomas cook for conformation that what I produced to them was fact and not just hearsay and chitchat. I was told they knew nothing about any building work? I found this strange as (A) I showed them pictures taken of the hotel dated 29th may showing a big building site (B) all travel companies have reps at all resorts, communication between reps in the resort and travel companies cannot possibly break down at the same time.
After much waiting and telephone calls, someone higher up the pecking order at Thomas cook conceded that there might be a little building work going on.
As mentioned above we were due to be married in Limassol, Thomas cook in their wisdom made a contingency plan, apparently we were penciled in to go to protares, about 2 to 3 hour drive away from Limassol, (so I am told). We booked our wedding through Thomas cook when we booked and paid for our holiday. We found this very upsetting as we would have to travel to the venue in a mini bus dressed in full regalia for anything up to three hours in searing temperatures also taking away the entrance my fiancée would make entering the wedding venue. There was another problem too, Thomas cook could not guarantee the wedding would take place as we were in another resort, booking another venue at such short notice was not an option we were told, they need at least twelve weeks notice.
Luckily like I stated above, if it was not for this site we would never have known and maybe forfeited or wedding thanks to the unthinking staff at Thomas cook. We were lucky we had two weeks before travel and we managed to get in another hotel in limassol so our wedding will go ahead as planned.
If you are traveling soon and like us planning a wedding, please get in touch with your travel agent A.S.A.P. as you may like us be penciled into another resort.
