Although, the reaction is quite funny, especially from Cype. I was merely suggesting that the Iraqis are killing each other, and yet all are talking as if it is the US personally that are killing women and children intentionally each day. Conversely, I have no doubt as to the stupidity of the US here. All I am suggesting is, let us have slightly more objectivity and not forget that Iraqis (helped by Iran, Al Qaeda and others) are causing a fair amount of the misery themselves, and nobody is forcing them to. That is of course not to say that the US have not created a lot of problems in the invasion and its aftermath.

N.B. It would also be helpful to remember that Iraq was a terrible place before the invasion.

Please explain.

as short as it can be:

a long disastrous war with iran in the 80s
a defeat in quweit
long lasting embargoes by the international community, which aimed at saddam but only made the life of the people worse and worse. in this time, unmployment rose, women lost rights in comparison to the 70s and 80s, and huge parts of the population was dependent on humanitarian help.
and on top of that you had a dictator called saddam

and all these, assuming you were not a kurd....

...........

but at least then one could at least LIVE.
unemployment is worse, women lost all rights they had, and nobody really knows when the next bomb will explode, when the next american bomb will fall etc.... before at least one knew where the danger came from - the dictators security forces.... now, everyone is a possible danger - americans, security forces, "other" religious groups , "other" tribes .

all these assuming you are not a kurd....unless kirkuk explodes in the end of the year as well

IT IS WORSE AS A RESULT OF THE CONTINUED ACTIONS OF THE SAVAGES.
The USA will withdraw , and cant wait to do so , as soon as the legal government of Iraq asks them to do so. Do you realise that the International community accepts that there is a government of Iraqis who are battling to come to grips with security issues that are exasperated by the actions of these SAVAGES.

What about the THOUSANDS the UK has been dropping into Iraq??? Doing EXACTLY the same thing but on a MASSIVE SCALE!!! If you're upset over 2 bombs imagine how people in Iraq feel over the THOUSANDS that have ripped their country apart...

Miltiades mate, I don't think you'll ever get it but I have a feeling deep down you're slightly racist... :?

I missed your post TC, let me say how shocked I'm at reading your comments. I beleive you live in the UK , tell me how would you feel if a member of your family whilst travelling on a bus in London became the victim of such an abominable attack.

As for your comments on racism , here are some facts about me to help you decide whether I have racist tendencies , incidentally do not confuse racism with "culturism " and a culturist I certainly am.
I'm a G/C married to an English lady , my doctors over the last 40 years have been all Sri Lankans , as is my current one too. My accountant of the last 30 years or so is an Indian . My solicitor is from Mauritius and my optimization expert (looking after my company's web page ) is , thanks to mrfromng , a T/C . So as you can see most of my close "associates" are neither Greek Cypriots or English. It most certainly does not make me a racist. What I'm and have made this clear on numerous occasions is culture conscious , it is a new description that has as yet to reach the Oxford dictionary , but culturist is what I most certainly am. Talking of cultures let me say that the Cyprus culture (G/C and T/C ) is for me the numero uno on my list !!!, followed closely by the English , Scottish , Irish and Welsh , and of course the Western world culture which I consider to be the most significant in the entire world.

They mis underestimated the determination of the savages to ruin the lives of millions of Iraqis , they went along with all the bullshitters that told them the fanatics are but a tiny minority !!!

I happen to be a English speaking Caucasian and a non-Muslim so I can’t possibly follow Arab TV stations even if I wanted to.

The journalists I follow are the likes of Paul Craig Roberts, Justin Raimondo, Scott Horton, and a few others and not to mention all-time great writers such as Noam Chomsky.
