Hi I am new to this site, and I have found this topic really interesting.
I have to agree with tarama, there are good and bad people in every society and we are all very keen to generalise on another nations good and bad traits without looking to deeply at our own countries values.
Just speaking from personal experience, I have been to Cyprus countless times and I have never felt unsafe, and the Cypriot men that I have met are very gentlemanly and polite.

I went to Laranca last summer...and I wouldnt let my kids out (if I had them) down there at nite like my parents used to with me. Cyprus has lost its innocense man...there were loads and of eatern European ho's there in Larnaca.

Anyway here you can walk at night without being roped, raped and killed and I think this mean a lot.

So true. Go to Germany, and help yourself out without knowing any German[-related] words and phrases. Or even France. You go like "Merci" and "Je m'apelle". That's all you know from high school. Cyprus is much different. English is like the second 1st language lol.. everybody talks it here..

And the other thing.. you can surely go for a walk at night or even daytime, without seeing crime committed like the rest of EU or even USA [not yet]. Not many countries are like that.

Cyprus is unique and it has a very extraordinary society. I know what you women in here are talking about men flirting in the streets and everything, but hey, flirting is not something bad, if it's done in a nice way. And I have to admit old generation Cypriots [that influence younger generations] have a veeeeeeery harsh way of flirting with women. But that's all.

I feel that if sexual behaviour is suppressed in society and then suddenly becomes readily available with the influx of tourism (drunken brits with their holiday head on!) Then respect will go out the window.

I have met Cypriot men, mainly in business and I find them very respectful. If you are going to generalise I would say British men are far more disrespectful towards women.

Might be to do with the fact that their own birds hide behind a tonne of make-up and huge sunglasses. Me thinks they're maybe not so pretty once all of this is removed. Not to mention the miserable look on their faces, but again, this could be traced back to the fact that their men spend all day chasing foreign women! What we have here is a vicious circle!

What you have said here indicates that you have little understanding of Cypriot women, nor of Cypriot men for that matter. Are you a disillusioned British ex-pat Webbie, or a squaddie for that matter?

On average Russian girls are better looking than cypriot ones. This is not the case with UK girls however. Also, who the guys chase is not only related to their looks, but also on how easy the girl is (or how easy she seems to be). Guys that chase girls in the streets are not those looking for anything serious.

Exactly. The young Cypriot male mentality when chasing foreign girls isn't for a long-term relationship - to which their families might not agree (depends on the parents) - it's simply to have a good time and some fun for a short-time, particularly if they're expected back on base in 4 hours.

Nobody wears more make up than Cypriot birds - it's to hide the acne many of them are cursed with.....that's why they layer it on with a trowel. Russian birds are far better looking.

UK birds are better looking than Cypriot birds too, because they don't have big noses and they smile -- something all Cypriots seem to fear doing.

I wouldn't judge birds from the UK by the Ayia Napa crowd, although some of them are babes.

As for Cypriot men not looking for anything long-term with the Russian and UK girls - I imagine that suits these girls fine because why would they want to marry a slimy Cypriot kerb crawler anyway? These guys are such losers, but again, probably forced into looking for a little outside action because their Cypriot girlfriend/wife is so miserable looking all the time and far too busy drinking coffee with her fat arsed friends.

You know what they say - if you want to see what your girl will look like in years to come, look at her mother! That is enough to put anybody off Cypriot women for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway if you don't like Cypriot men, just walk on the street looking on the sky. It's a good way not to see anyone in front of you.
By the way. British girls just SUCK. (You can use the meaning of both words here) It seems to me that you haven’t been to England lately.
A small note about the Cypriot girls. They are so difficult to play with cause they still have respect for them selves...
