It's funny you ask because he DID thank the DIKO-AKEL-EDEK partnership which helped the RoC pull through some VERY difficult times, and especially in getting across to the disappointed world why the AP was rejected despite promises of approval by previous governments!

Turkey does not accept the Gambari agreement,which is in fact not an agreement at all and has not lead anywhere.....They told this to the Russian envoy who visited Ankara last week but perhaps unsurprisingly it was not openly announced at his press conference in Nicosia afterwards....
Sorry but nothing will convince me to support Tassos and I never did......He cannot get us out of the mess we are in.

Turkey has a habit of signing on the dotted line and then "changing" her mind the next day and this should be an eye-opener for anyone who still thinks that Turkey would've kept her side of the bargain in the Annan Plan, such as removing troops at specific dates etc, a plan that would've dragged on for two whole decades constantly relying heavily on Turkey's "word of honor"!!!

Not that I agree with what you're implying here but how is it technically appropriate to jump to the Makarios days now? Are you not aware of the number of times Turkey has dishonored her signature in the last 5 years?

GR it seems common practice to dishonour signatures, so why make an issue of it. Make sure you never wash your hand again. (the one that shook Tpapa hand)
