Cannabis is against the law here, I am not quite sure what rayman is trying to tell us. It's a bit silly actually promoting the use of illegal drugs by using quotes from accredited bodies and then having your picture alongside your name, considering it to be your real picture.

I am not quite sure why the moderators did not take this thread down, what next ask were to find fire arms (before some silly person says this is nothing like marijuana), you will find that both circumstances are against the law and the police treat both instances v.seriously. This forum should not be used to promote illegal activity, especially drug activity.

there are drugs everywhere, one guy I'm sure doesn't make a diff, you should see the drugs we have here in oz. just cause there's drugs around doesn't mean you have to take it right? so why is it bothering everyone so much?

Sega, promoting? or stating a fact? i dont use drugs, but i think the whole Cannabis issue got too much of a bad publicity where the actual plant is less harmful than a pepper There are so many subjects we can hook onto which would be associated with illegal activity etc... You can get superhigh from a Glue or some Paints yet is still legal You can get superdrunk and kill someone without even remebering yourself doing so, yet buzz drinking is legal. An dhere is the most weird one, OPIUM SEEDS are used by Zorpas, Pankypria and other bakeries on some Franzoles... yupeee... where Cannabis is also a main ingredient for many recipes. You can get dozens of pills without prescription in any pharmacy and get really HI if you want to.

I am against drugs, but i cannot resist in pointing out some paradoxical facts here... where is logic in this?

All the facts you said are all true, stating facts which go-for as oppose to agaist is still classed as promoting.

This whole thread is about some person from Canada (presumably) trying to find illegal drugs in Cyprus for personal use. People have a tendency to go one step further than what they are allowed to do. Things are a progressive cycle and if we are soft on mild drugs then people will progress to the harder substances. I agree there are many things out there worse than marijuana, in fact I truly believe that smoking tobacco and alcohol abuse is worse than marijuana. That does not mean smoking pot is right. Most of all it is illegal in Cyprus and people as well as the police see it as a serious crime.

hey, you are assuming the guy wants to buy some pot while in CY. perhaps he is not. i find this thread stimulating and very interesting, something i might be temped to ask myself, just out of curiosity. and i haven't smoked in over 3 years.
well, i did have a slight slip about a year and a half ago, but for the most part, 3 years drug free.

Nothing like a little Acapulco Gold to get people's dander up! Although there are some inconsistencies in the arguments. For example:

1. I don't buy the theory that it doesn't have ill health effects. One need only look at a pothead scraping the tar off a bowl to smoke it for evidence. That tar gets all in your lungs. That crap can't be good...

2. There are a lot of things that will happen to you before you ever go insane from smoking a joint. Any valid supporting info to the contrary could make me eat my words, but I'm not holding my breath...

3. Promoting a drug = advertising it for the purpose of distribution. This has not happened here. Some people need to relax a little...

4. Lanate is legal. So that's obviously much better to ingest because, you may be stupid and dead, but at least you didn't break the law! Sometimes, it's the laws (or lack thereof) that are wrong.

I'll absolutely agree though, that it's important to respect the laws of countries you visit. Trying to score some while on holiday, not knowing who you're dealing with, is just plain stupid. If anybody wants to smoke a joint, they're hurting nobody but themselves. But hey - take a holiday! You might see, hear and taste things you wouldn't have otherwise noticed in a drug induced fog.

All this said, pot is so prolific that anyone who thinks it isn't being used in CY to the same extent as in other countries is probably not looking at the situation realistically. Part of the allure of the drug, after all, is that it's illegal.
