hey, you are assuming the guy wants to buy some pot while in CY. perhaps he is not. i find this thread stimulating and very interesting, something i might be temped to ask myself, just out of curiosity. and i haven't smoked in over 3 years.
well, i did have a slight slip about a year and a half ago, but for the most part, 3 years drug free.

GG you seem ok with the idea of 'weed' so why did you stop? Drug free for 3 years, is there a reason?

I'm not trying to be antagonistic but you must have had a reason to stop.

yes, i quit because i had lung surgery. the docotrs all knew about my pot smoking, that is not what caused me to have lung surgery. it was breathing formadhyde fumes for 11 years in a dental office i worked in that damaged my lungs.

Which states are like NY in this respect?

i'd have to look it up, and i don't have time now....

People should let us enjoy it in peace. All the stress of having to work 9 - 6, stress of traffic, paying bills, paying taxes, obligation after obligation, just let us enjoy some natural god-given gifts provided by the earth!

If a policeman stops you with a tiny bit of weed on you you're taken to the police station, they take your details, put you on record, the police search your house (just your bedroom) for more drugs, and if they don't find any they send you packing home, end of story. Just don't carry large amounts and be careful. Weed is more popular in Cyprus than the average person thinks and its rather easy to score if you look in the right places. Only downer is its not the high quality stuff you find in Canada or Amsterdam and its seriously expensive. 1g weed = 10 pounds, 1g skunk = 20 pounds (15 pounds if you're friends with the dealer ). OK good reason! The inhalation of anything is not a good thing to do.

I have a friend/alter-ego, and he's been smoking up most of his adult life, a few joints a day, since university actually, he is in very good health, plays football for his local league, he has a very good job, a loving family, provides for his parents, great friends and enjoys life, enjoys movies, enjoys music, even plays for a local band and enjoys traveling. Is there any real reason to lock this guy up in jail with the murderers, the con men, the pedophiles and the rapists because his choice in tobacco consumption is not cigarettes or Cuban cigars or nargile but marijuana ? If so I'd like to know. And please keep it in the context of the above mentioned fellow if you can.
