Mr & Mrs phucking fat piggy HA HA HA. Got your comeuppance at last, thieving cheapskate low life scum. Your wanky lager swigging mates on Cyprus 44 are shitting themselves too.

Who in their right mind would buy in the north now?

Jerry, those poor idiots should not be blamed. Those that should be blamed are the prostitute British governments that diachronically and deliberately were refusing or "neglecting" to properly and accurately inform their citizens, in their FM traveling advices, regarding the real situation of the occupied part of the RoC and the status of the GC properties there. If I were in their shoes, I would have sued the shit out of the British government, for letting me down in such a scandalous and opportunistic manner. Of course now, after the Orams case emerged in 2005, they somehow fixed a bit their traveling advice (it is still miles away from reflecting the accurate facts,) however, too little too late.

It is good to see that you have a heart. But, there is a legal doctrine of 'due diligence' and anybody making such a major purchase has to engage in it, or face the consequences.

Great day.

Greek Cypriots can now finally demand restitution from these thieves.

Just uncorked a Papaioannou Pinot Noir. Heres to justice finally being served!! Cheers!

I understand what you are saying Kifeas but anyone with half a brain that was going to spend £000s in a foreign country should do the research to make sure that their investment was safe. Orams could, I suppose, sue the lawyer that acted for him in the "purchase".

Jerry, I very well remember reading those notorious UK FM travel advices on property purchase in occupied Cyprus. Not only they were not informative at all, to prodect their own nationals; but in fact they were deliberately misleading those poor fellows to make all kinds of wrongfull assumptions and fell victims of all sorts of crooks, be it lawyers, developers or the TC “authorities.”

most people who purchased property in the north were either told it was exchanged legally or that there would never be a solution so why worry?
my advice would be never trust an estate agent!

This is it. Crooks, including brits taking advantage of another persons tragedy, will always find a way round rulings like this.

Eracles,

if you want to "take advantage" of this ruling why not offer offshore blind trusts to the Orams and their like then hand the trust to the GC owners?

PS anyone think they Orams might be swine flu reservoirs, have they been to Mexico lately, the public needs to know!
