Lets find out what it means first of all.

Will you be driving the JCB to demolish it.

£10 to the person who demolishes it before being shot.

your response speaks volumes

Mr & Mrs phucking fat piggy HA HA HA. Got your comeuppance at last, thieving cheapskate low life scum. Your wanky lager swigging mates on Cyprus 44 are shitting themselves too.

Who in their right mind would buy in the north now?

Jerry, those poor idiots should not be blamed. Those that should be blamed are the prostitute British governments that diachronically and deliberately were refusing or "neglecting" to properly and accurately inform their citizens, in their FM traveling advices, regarding the real situation of the occupied part of the RoC and the status of the GC properties there. If I were in their shoes, I would have sued the shit out of the British government, for letting me down in such a scandalous and opportunistic manner. Of course now, after the Orams case emerged in 2005, they somehow fixed a bit their traveling advice (it is still miles away from reflecting the accurate facts,) however, too little too late.

It is good to see that you have a heart. But, there is a legal doctrine of 'due diligence' and anybody making such a major purchase has to engage in it, or face the consequences.

And a state has a duty to protect and inform its citizens -set aside not to deliberately mislead them. The British government failed in its duties, and instead it ideed mislead them for political expediency purposes. It took hundreds of warnings and protests by the RoC to convince them to change the content of their travel advice -yet, they only did so after the Orams case emerged. Still, if one reads the last such advice, it continues to tell half truths.

I happen to be a friend of Apostolides (we come from the same village of Lapithos, we have properties close to each other.) I speak very often with him and I have to tell you that his objective in bringing up this case was not punish or destroy these people (Orams.) His objective was not necessarily to earn money from the Orams. They are also the victims of the same expediency politics. I cannot accept that so many thousands of British that “bought” GC properties in the north are all that stupid and /or unethical. Some of them yes, but not the majority. His purpose was to send the message to the word -the message that the British governments “neglected” to send, that what happens in the occupied north of Cyprus is both illegal and unethical, and should be made to stop and to be reversed immediately.

The weirdest thing of all, I reckon .... is that a lot of those illegally sold GCs homes have been bought by TCs living in the UK, also!

All these 'double dippers' should be locked up. Ofcourse those at the topr did nothing to stop the trend. They are as guilty too. Myopic or what?

First of all this is yet another confirmation that there is no such thing as "exchange land" or even "disputed land" in occupied north. The land belongs to the original owners and this is an undisputed fact. Anybody else in that property is nothing but an illegal trespasser.

What was disputed until today is if RoC court rulings regarding occupied Cyprus are enforceable in all other EU countries. We now know that such court rulings are enforceable in all EU and this is undisputed as well.

I don't think that tomorrow there will be thousands of such cases opening. I believe most people will wait some more time and see if a fair solution that will give to them their properties back can be achieved.

But I do think that some more cases will follow, and will be more than enough to destroy the 90% of illegal land trade in occupied Cyprus. Those who bought illegally in occupied north will live with the fear that any day their life can be turned into a living hell. And certainly far less people will be willing to purchase in the north now, not only because it is now clear they can loose all their money, but also because with the publicity that this case took nobody can claim that he didn't know that it was illegal to buy such properties in north Cyprus.
