Jets alone will do jack shit. Iran needs ground to air missiles that can knock out F35s. Unless there is a system of locating the F35s from the ground, what good are the Chinese planes. Have they ever taken on an F35 on in the air and downed one.

What they need is a multi layer air defence system so if one layer is knocked out there is still an air defence system that is operational. Against the Satanic forces you need a back up for a back up.

One thing that stopped them is how much damage Iran could inflict on Israel. Iran could not defend herself but nor could Israel. Now that's what you call deterrence.

• Drones
• Missiles
• Jets
• Choppers
• Other

All of which require a completely different S2A system, yet all communicate with one another so that no two systems engage at the same target simultaneously, but only the most suitable one.

Examples...

The S-400 must remain silent during a drone attack and only something like the Pantsir must awaken to engage.

However, when an enemy jet approaches; even at under 12km, the Pantsir must remain silent and only the S-400 must engage, etc.

These are complex systems that must talk to each other for the best results.

You are mistaken in the meaning of multi layer. What you mean is multiple system of air defences protecting against each type of attack. If you have multiple system that does not make it multi layer, what makes it multi layer is having back up for each one and then a further back up for each back up too. So what one needs is an array of air defence systems.

However having the ability to devestate the oposition works just as well. As a third of Tel Aviv is devestated in 12 days, if it continued Tel Avi would have been wiped out in just over a month. Now that is deterence. Israel will not attack again unless they have a new Iron Dome which can cope with Iranian missiles, if that is possible. Iran needs to make the hypersonic missiles even faster.

For many years though the Iranians have poured billions into arming and training terrorist groups in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria and Yemen. Whilst talking openly at the highest levels about destroying Israel. The word "cowardly" gets used a lot in here but I can't think of a better definition than doing that whilst just sitting back and watching. Certainly, Israel carried out bombing attacks against those organisations.

There were a few headline grabbers but it didn't seem like precision was an element of the Iranian attacks - or tactics. Rather, saturation bombardment of population centres on the basis that some missiles would inevitably penetrate the Israeli defences.
