You - and this is rare - don't seem to appreciate the realities. A lot of Muslim states despise the Persians. Starting perhaps with the Gulf countries. They regard the Iranians (quite righty) as a Shiite expansionist threat.
Iran has sought to extend its influence over the ME since the creation of their Islamic theocratic dictatorship in 1979. Thus their activities in the Lebanon, Gaza, Syria and Yemen. A significant component of such expansionism would be the power accorded to them with possession of nuclear weapons.
If that happened of course you would find the like of Saudi acquiring them (despite recent rhetoric the Shia Pakistanis would be only too pleased to help). Then the world would be a much safer place.
