Russia says may give Syria S-300, calls for urgent UN meeting

Russia calls for an emergency UN Security Council on the tripartite act on aggression and says it may consider supplying S-300 missile defense systems to the Arab state.

The Russian military’s Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoi said on Saturday that US actions in Syria are aimed at destabilizing the already fragile situation in the entire region, adding that S-300 could also be delivered to other countries as well besides Syria.

The Kremlin also said Russia has called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council over the assaults.

Attacks ‘targeted Syria’s chance for peace’

Earlier, Moscow warned against the repercussions of the missile strikes by the US and its allies on Syria early Saturday, saying the tripartite military attacks targeted the terrorism-riddled country’s chance for a peaceful future.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova took to Facebook to condemn the act of aggression, saying, “The capital of a sovereign government, trying for years to survive under terrorist aggression, has been attacked.”

“You have to be quite abnormal to attack Syria’s capital just at the moment when it had a chance for a peaceful future.”
Russia’s Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov also warned of the consequences of such military actions.

He was the first Russian official to react after Washington, Britain and France launched coordinated missile attacks against Syria over the alleged attack in the town of Douma in the city’s countryside in the early hours of Saturday.

“Again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences,” he tweeted on Saturday.
“Insulting the President of Russia is unacceptable and inadmissible,” he added. Vladimir Putin had outspokenly cautioned against an escalation as Washington and its allies were harping on about Damascus’ alleged use of chemical weapons.

This has infinitely more credibility than Trump, May, Macron’s assurances that they have evidence but can’t tell anyone as it’s secret.

Syria 'Chemical Attack' Staged to Provoke US Airstrike, London Pushed Perpetrators – Russian MoD - By RT

The Russian Defense Ministry has presented what it says is proof that the reported chemical weapons attack in Syria was staged. It also accused the British government of pressuring the perpetrators to speed up the “provocation.”
During a briefing on Friday, the ministry showed interviews with two people, who, it said, are medical professionals working in the only hospital operating in Douma, a town near the Syrian capital, Damascus.

In the interviews released to the media, the two men reported how footage was shot of people dousing each other with water and treating children, which was claimed to show the aftermath of the April 7 chemical weapons attack. The patients shown in the video suffered from smoke poisoning and the water was poured on them by their relatives after a false claim that chemical weapons were used, the ministry said.

Quote:

“Please, notice. These people do not hide their names. These are not some faceless claims on the social media by anonymous activists. They took part in taking that footage,” said ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov.

“The Russian Defense Ministry also has evidence that Britain had a direct involvement in arranging this provocation in Eastern Ghouta,” the general added, referring to the neighborhood of which Douma is part. “We know for certain that between April 3 and April 6 the so-called White Helmets were seriously pressured from London to speed up the provocation that they were preparing.”

Video .... from RT ..... the ONLY media outlet at the moment that is giving the other side of the story. Plenty on the independent news web sites but it’s a bit fragmented.

The Russians also warned some weeks ago that an ‘event’ was being planned but not where or when. I posted this on 14th March on this thread. Unlike the US/UK/Fr, the Russians will release a lot of their less sensitive intelligence, maybe to the UN General Assembly. :x

When this is shown to be just what the Russians predicted, a false flag set-up, an international arrest warrant for War Crimes should be issued and this war mongering trio should go on trial ..... no doubt in absentia as they will hide behind even more lies, as May has done with the Skripal investigation to avoid justice being seen to be done for the people of Syria. And they should be made to issue a grovelling apology for insulting the President of the Russian Federation. :x

It appears the base was evacuated before the F.UK.US attack and then maybe some personnel started to return or they left a skeleton crew on the site. It has been attributed to Israel, which is most probable. It also shows the double tap mentality of the Israeli's. Sit and wait for the occupants to return thinking the attack is over :x

IMO: More likely missile strikes from the Eastern Med than aircraft.

Will the Iranians respond? :?: :?

If the MSM are printing this story .... things are changing, although I doubt it will be up for long.

At last a credible UK military source has said what most sensible people have been saying since 2013. CUI BONO ......... it is ONLY the US backed terrorists (and the US ) that could possibly benefit from using chemical weapons! Assad is on the verge of destroying the terrorists and decides to gas his own people ....... the rhetoric is that of idiots! :x :x

Former head of Britain's special forces says Assad 'doesn't need to use gas' because he's 'already won the war'

Major General Jonathan Shaw said: 'Why would Assad use chemical weapons at this time? He's won the war.
'That's not just my opinion, it is shared by senior commanders in the US military. There is no rationale behind Assad's involvement whatsoever.'He's convinced the rebels to leave occupied areas in buses. He's gained their territory. So why would he be bothering gassing them?

Speaking exclusively to The Mail on Sunday, the ex-SAS and Parachute Regiment commander added: 'The jihadists and the various opposition groups who've been fighting against Assad have much greater motivation to launch a chemical weapons attack and make it look like Assad was responsible.

Why do these Senior Military people not speak out when they are in the military but wait until they retire to make their opinions known. :x

IMO: That is why they never shoot down F-15 or F-18 .... because the platform stays well away from Syrian air space as they know what will happen. They would be taken out just like their missiles.
