i was having a general conversation yesterday with a group of people one of which was from magusa the liberated part who chose to leave his family house to a settler in 74. he asked me how can i be from cyprus and not be a christian. i looked at her in total disbelief. you must have been to the same school as him. do you know him. there can't be that many special needs like you too left. perhaps you are attending the same psychiatrists.

Did you not tell him you could avoid taxes by becoming a muslim? And nowadays, you can get free property by being a muslim. Why isn't everyone a muslim?

OK. It should be democratic with no veto powers for TCs but excluding certain things is fine (e.g. union with Greece... since it is so important for you even if not relevant anymore!). Nothing should be "bi". "Cantons" with elevated local administration over areas which were traditionally inhabited by mostly TCs is fine. No guarantees. No armies of other countries. No British bases. Transitional period of say 10-20 years accepted. Property issue should be resolved in a way that satisfies the refugees and doesn't bankrupt the state. Most Settlers should go back to Turkey. Open to be convinced about anything else as long as we are convinced because we accept the arguments not because we are threatened and blackmailed!!

I am searching to find ethnic groups that consist of people that speak different languages (not just dialects) and have totally different religions (not just Sunni/Shia situation) and I can't find any. I believe I read about 1 such case somewhere but I forgot what it is! I am really perplexed as to how some think that people of different language AND religion can be of the same ethnic group and believe that it is just a matter of some textbooks to make this happen!

I could digest it though instead of calling yourself Greek to call it ErmmmGreek.

Needless to say that I have exactly the same view for the TCs. ErmmmTurk could be digestible as well.

"Austrians have developed their own distinct national identity and do not consider themselves to be ethnic Germans,regardless of being so genetically".
In Cyprus we don't even have enough evidence the majority of us are even genetically Greek :!:

we do have evidence to show that gcs are not greak. greaks are closer to the tergggs thab gcs.

They are what they were *told* to be at school repeatedly during their 12 most vulnerable years when they absorbed information like sponges.

Ethnicity is man-made and you can assign whatever label you want to whomever you want if there’s a political gain to be made, and there’s nothing that such victims like Sotos can do but obey, for they know no other way. He was caught out at his most vulnerable and now he’s stuck with it.

It takes enormous strength and intelligence to break from political shackles and seek reality but these are very rare qualities that most don’t have.
