So you went to Carmel where Clint was the mayor and ate at his restaurant, “The Hog’s Breath”! :D

That was the plan but after a month of motel/hotelling, and having spent a busy time in LA and San Diego, we were all too knackered (had our then 14 yr old Granddaughter with us). So we, very un excitingly, ended up eating at the Motel. Which surprisingly had a pretty mean Sushi setup (the GD’s favourite). Lovely coast of course.

Perhaps we’ll go back one day. Not on a 2 seat rocket though. Unless it has a set of training wheels attached that is. :D

To satisfy Mrs. LR’s passion for Clint, did you also drive through the “17 mile Drive” in Monterey/Carmel to take a glimpse of his house from a viewpoint, which Sondra Locke ended up keeping it as community property even when not being married under California’s laws on “domestic partnerships”.

Yes, stay off any two wheels/seats rockets or else you will be both known as, “motorcycle mama & papa”! :D

Yes, you're right. Although, I did once harbour a passion for crossing coast-to-coast on a comfortable hired Harley (a la Billy Connolly). I looked into all aspects of it, too. But for various reasons it never came about :(

I would add. Despite the notion being floated, I'm not actually an 80 year old. Fake news? :D

Never too late as long as you still have a driver’s license.

Yes, I saw that program where Billy did his cross country on a tricycle. That was very cool. 8)

How crazy is this.

ABC News
3 Pennsylvania neighbors dead after fight over snow shoveling, authorities say

BILL HUTCHINSON
Wed, February 3, 2021, 11:49 PM

A fight that erupted over snow shoveling allegedly led to a Pennsylvania man shooting two of his neighbors to death, authorities said.

The fatal gun violence occurred in Plains Township, about 15 miles southwest of Scranton after 2 feet of snow blanketed the area, officials said.

Just before 9 a.m. on Monday, Plains Township police officers responded to a report of shots fired in a residential neighborhood and discovered 50-year-old James Goy and his 48-year-old wife, Lisa Goy, lying dead in the street in front of their home, according to a joint statement by Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis and Plains Township Police Chief Dale Binker.

Residents in the area directed police officers to a house across the street from the Goys' home, but as they approached the front door, a gunshot rang out, the officials said. Inside the house, police found 47-year-old James Spaide deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.

The most impressive section is from Monterey/Carmel to San Luis Obispo, about 100 miles stretch taking about 3 hours with many stops at lookout points. Well, it is once again closed just south of Big Sur due to one section of the roadway slipping into the Pacific Ocean as it has happened many times before at different locations. I expect this closure of the highway will last a year or two costing millions of dollars and denying the pleasures of many driving/riding on this highway.

If there was a "like" function on this forum id use it for your post kiks.

Had an HD vrscdx (nightrod) lined up for last summer on the pacific highway :(

Thanks DT.

It would have been a nice ride for you, all the way from San Francisco to Los Angeles via Malibu along the coast.

It was this type bike I had for 33 years, except mine was a Kawasaki Z900, with 4 in 1 Kerker pipes also. Lots of power, made for Highway 1. :D

classic!

Little late responding, DT, but you are very correct, that this bike is a classic. Some of my American friends called it a “Rice Burner”! :D
