Yes Macedonia is Greek. Alexander spread Hellenism and was an Olympic Athlete. Only Greeks can compete in the Okympics.

I know Cyprus suffered big time under the Junta, and so did many Greeks. There are things that can’t be condoned.

But 11 million Greeks suffer each day the elected fools of Greece ever since the Junta. The Junta on the other hand built roads and connected villages with power.

Greeks invented democracy but can’t live well in a democratic system. Greece needs a Junta.

The military should be the Government of Greece. Greece should be a dictatorship. I really do believe that. And don’t worry what everyone else thinks. If the EU can’t take it, then leave.

Democracy is over rated anyway. People need a benevolent leader and a dignified way of supporting themselves.

All other ‘democratic’ Governments have just been traitors to Greece. The military men and women will die for Greece. There is the difference.

 Oh my goodness… I won’t be sleeping tonight because a bunch of Balkans can’t agree on who owns Greek mythology!

Here’s a solution… rename it to Balkan mythology and you can all enjoy it!

Cyprus was part of the Macedonian Empire and then was passed on to Ptolemy. This is certainly no mythology.

Here's a clearer version of that map Paphitis.

Now, what was it you were saying?

errr...I was saying that Cyprus was a part of the Macedonian Empire and after the passing of Alexander, Cyprus was gifted over to his General Ptolemy of Alexandria.

Sorry Paphitis, but according to my history books Cyprus owned what is called "Greece" today and gifted it to some nomads drifting in that region and the rest is history.

Oh Right!

OK fair enough. They were Macedonian Nomads and warlords. They did reach Pakistan and India after-all.

I accept that Get Real. But they were Macedonian Nomads that spread Hellenism and afterwards Cyprus was gifted to Ptolemy.

Thanks for the correction.

PS: please send me a copy of your History Books.

My God, have they nothing better to protest about?! The pointless aggravation governments instil in people, all over a stupid name!

Whether they're Greek or not, historically the land they reside on was once considered a part of Macedonia, so it is a part of the lands history, and even in ancient times - it was Greek lands!

I know a dog walker from Macedonia, and when she first told me where she was from I automatically assumed she meant from Macedonia, Greece, as she is clearly ethnically Greek, but one day when talking about Greece she corrected me and said she wasn't Greek, that her heritage was Yugoslavian, though she said many Greeks have also assumed she's Greek. I know it's just one person, but I'd be surprised if a lot more people living there didn't have links to Greeks.
