I am sure Cypriots learnt how to drive correctly and in the main the roads are safe in Cyprus.

There are few instances of plonkerish behavior and these are the ones that stand out. This is not exclusive to Cypriot drivers though but drivers in Cyprus.

it is true though, not everyone indicates when turning. lane control needs improvement in general, particularly stopping at the line you are supposed to stop at and a red light does mean stop at the red light.

Yes indeed, Cyprus is a safer country to drive from some third world countries as well as Greece and Italy. My observations are based on a driving career stretching ovet half a century. Passed my test just before getting married in 1967, age 21.
I drove through Europe on 5 occasions and have an unblemished and accident free lengthy record. I have owned and driven some of the fastest cars including a DBS Aston Martin, an XJ12 Jag and many more high powered cars. My comments on Cypriot driving have been formed since arriving in Cyprus in April 2017 and are in line with views expressed by Cypriot Police.
The Cypriot drivers are inconsiderate, in a hurry, devoid of road sense and undisciplined. A concerted educational campaign needs to be put in place to instill in drivers the fundamentals of good driving.
It is ludicrous that on an almost daily basis stupid " accidents" occur. Also ridiculous that although mobile use whilst driving is illegal the drivers use them quite casually
utter disregard of the law. 90% of Cypriots in the early hours of the morning drive through the red lights. I have watched this illegal careless act for 21 months and took notes. It is a fact that driving standards are well below those of other European nations and on par with those of the Arab world.

One of the joys of driving in the USA is, that almost 99% of the time one can make a right turn on a Red light............after coming to a full stop First, and do so safely by not impeding on the traffic coming from the left on a Green light who has the right of way. This system will suit Cyprus well to allow drivers to go about their business quicker than waiting at a Red light to turn right. It may help the traffic situation for it to move faster which may reduce the stress factor in the impatient drivers.

Can do that in Australia too, except its a LEFT turn not a right turn because its in reverse as Australia is right hand drive like Cyprus.

One day, those pesky Cypriots are just gonna have to accept that Australians and Mericans are cleverer once they start looking outside the Center of the Universe.

It refers to road fatalities and accidents resulting in injury. Im referring to crashes, trakkarismata, resulting from driver stupidity. Most of these crashes occur at roundabouts when some idiot is using a mobile and smashes at the back of the car in front.
My own observations are based on personal experience reaching the conclusion that most Cypriot drivers have no fucking road sense. Suitably qualified to ride donkeys.
