How?

The place needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilding to make it inhabitable again.

The legitimate owners want compensation from turkey and she is bankrupt.

But,

This smells like (probably) another attempt to usurp other people’s property by the illegitimate regime.

Oversay is just another dope working for erdogan.

They don’t have the money and everything they touch turns to shit.

If you tally up all of turkeys liabilities over the decades, the country should cease to exist. Because they could not pay it back, even over 100 years.

They are doing this as a means of 'Punishment' for the hydrocarbons. They can't do anything else, they have been told to lay off the 'drilling' they are apparently doing so now they turn their attention to other BS methods to 'teach us a lesson'.

Assirktir is my answer to them.

I agree. More blackmailing. Turkey and the "trnc" want to be part of the Meds hydrocarbons production and they need the RoC to invite them. They want to use Varaosha as a leverage.

Way back our friend MR always use to say that "possession is 9/10th of the law" regarding Turkey's occupation of the north. Well now, the hydrocarbons are 9/10th of the law in favour of the RoC.

Karma can be such a bitch sometimes, especially when Turkey's occupation in the north is illegal and the hydrocarbons in the south and all around the island are legally RoC's.

Our government should change its policy regarding the "Confidence Building Measures". Such measures are useless as the policies of each side are not determined by "confidence" or friendships on individual level, but by interests.

How can we ask from EU to take measures that will create a cost to Turkey when we do nothing to create cost to the regime in the north?

Any attempt to change the status quo in Famagusta (other than returning it to RoC) is more than a good enough reason to implement policies that will limit the crossings to/from the north, to freeze all applications of TCs for RoC Ids and passports (or to issue arrest warrants for the secessionist TC leadership), to stop facilitating imports from the north, and to terminate several of the CBMs which only serve the Turkish side.

I agree on everything Sotos, especially on the arrest warrant on TC leadership, but also to pilots flying into the north, ship captains and crew as well as seizures of aircrafts and vessels used.

Cyprus's politicians drag their heels and have also contributed to this whole saga dragging out.

In addition to what you have both said above;

They are only asking the EU to put sanctions on Turkey to stop the illegal drilling in Cyprus's EEZ.

So what then when or if Turkey stops the drilling? Is it back to business as usual for Turkey while the illegal occupation of the northern third of Cyprus continues? (which is the bigger problem)

Its a half baked measure....

Asking for sanctions for violating the sea, but none for violating the land for the last 45 years..

They are acting like plonkers.....

Agreed.
What they really want (if they had their way) is open and unapologetic savagery, to invade and raze the south and leave nothing standing. (Afrin) (armenia) (Diyarbakır) etc
But in this day and age Cyprus it's not so easy.
Proving once again and predictably that the Anatolian state has no and never had honour.
