You could almost imagine that Londonrake has little or no real interest in racism or antisemitism specifically but is just making a meal over this whole thing for some other unstated covert reason, what ever that might be.    (see what I did there with the smileys ?)

i can read his mind from a mile away. he is a very selfish individual who only cares for himself and his family i presume and cares nothing of what people who are less fortunate than him suffer whether they are in the uk or anywhere else in the world. the other swines actually believe that poor people are lazy and bring it on upon themselves. he is a tory swine and hates the idea that labour may actually win. and of course this is not just any labour, this is labour that will actually behave like labour.

but i never lose hope. becasue i was like them one time and one person opened my mind to the realities and that was that. you never know one day they may experience the same state of mind even if it is at the point of death.

what was it all about?
was it worth it?

Is it me or is this Rabbi character is a real asshole? Nothing to do with him being Jewish btw.

Did this asshole raise any complaints when Boris made racist comments about Muslims or is it only off limits if someone makes racist comments about Jews?

So basically, he can support Tories if they insult Muslims but takes offense when insults are pointed towards at his people. Basically this asshole is morally corrupted and Corbyn should tell him to fuck off next time the Rabbi asks for an apology from him what another asshole in the Labour party member may have said against the Jews.

Just watched that.

what gets me nowadays is that people are chucking the word phobic or phobia after whatever other word they want. In an attempt to shame you.

understand what phobia means. it means fear. It is a Greek word meaning to be scared of something.

In my mind it sounds rather silly when I hear this word and how it is being used sometimes.

Like

When a transsexual accuses someone of being transphobic. To them, its like calling someone a racist. But really, they are saying that you are scared of transsexuals. Literally......

What would a transexual say if someone responded with a confirmation that they are scared of transsexuals? Are they going to make your life a misery or get angry and argue some more with you because of it/ or even try and beat you up and prove your point?

Calling someone an islamaphob, is an attempt to manipulate and further some political agenda. Its like trying to call someone a racist. But even such a direct accusation has been used like cheap confetti it has lost meaning.. Besides this, Islam is not even a race.

But literally, really,

What is wrong with being scared of something?

Is it bad to be claustrophobic? is it bad to have an arachnophobia?

imo

prejudice is rooted in fear. fear of difference. it is not the only thing it is rooted in but it is a major commonality across all forms of prejudice. phobia is an irrational fear. thus I think transphobic and terms like it is entirely suitable. If you are claustrophobic you recognise that the fear is irrational and can seek help for that. If you are transphobic you should imo see it in the same terms.

I am a Jewish Labour member, and the Chief Rabbi's claims about anti-Semitism are based on a view of the party I don't recognise

Why would he make any comments over any alleged remarks Boris made about Muslims?

Let the Grand Mufti ark about about the Muslims.

The guy is a Rabbi. he is only concerned about his kind and anti antisemitism in Labour.

That's why it makes him an asshole. He does not stand against racism unless it effects his kind.

The thread is about anti-Semitism ..... but the word had lost its true meaning! :(

Anti-Semitism has to be any threat, accusation, intent, verbal or physical, against a person who is Jewish ..... simply because they are Jewish.

If you say all Jews should be sent to the gas chambers ..... that’s anti-Semitic; if you say Jews should be restricted as to areas they can live in ..... that’s anti-Semitic; if you limit their freedom to practice their religion ..... that’s anti-Semitic; etc.etc. ..... meaning, direct action against them because of their religious belief. I don’t know about others but I think that is a fair description of anti-Semitism and is not acceptable in any society.

If you say Israel is guilty of human rights abuses ..... that’s NOT anti-Semitic; if you say what Israel is doing to Gaza is no different to what the Nazi’s did in the Warsaw Ghetto ..... that’s NOT anti-Semitic; if you condemn Israel for killing unarmed Palestinian protestors ..... that’s NOT anti-Semitic; if you condemn Israel for land theft of the Palestinian lands of annexing the Golan ..... that’s NOT anti-Semitic. That is criticism of the Israeli Regime who are predominantly Zionist, the fact that most are also Jews is not part of the criticism. There are many Jews who are not Zionists and are as opposed to Zionism every bit as much as people like Corbyn and others that either condemn the Israeli Regime or support Palestinian claims for their own homeland.

I see the accusations of anti-Semitism as simply a political organisation with their own plans hiding behind a religion because that happens to be the religion of most of their people and using the accusations of anti-Semitism for political gain. So it is not ‘anti-Semitism’! What you now have is a new ‘ism ....... ‘antisemitism’ which encompasses protection for the State of Israel against criticism or responsibility for their actions.
