He is part of the problem and it was deliberate.

...explain to me why he is part of the problem; what is he doing at the moment for you to say that?

...more militarisation.

The move is seen as part of Turkey’s broader goal to strategically control the region, using the occupied territories as a stepping stone.

Denktash speaks,

https://www.kibrispostasi.com/c140-DAIL ... w-economic

''Denktaş emphasized the need to seize the opportunity of the representative appointed by the UN to explain why the Cyprus issue has not been resolved for 60 years and to admit that the reason for the deadlock is themselves. He criticized the inequality created between the two sides, stating that expecting the politically stronger side to share something with the other side while they continue to create inequality is wrong.''

...at least, he would be willing to recognise the Problem; perhaps to sit down as Cypriots.

Indeed, the problem is the vast economic disparity; to integrate "This" must be overcome.

...but the rest of what he said was not encouraging at all.

He does not understand the problem. You can only solve the problem if you understand it. The reason for not reaching an agreement is very simple. Russia does not want a solution because she want's animosity in Nato's southern flank between Turkey and Greece and of course GC establishment no matter what political persuasion will do anything the Russians say.

"The case against Turkish Cypriot lawyer Akan Kürşat, who was arrested in Italy and later extradited to south Cyprus, where his trial began in the south, has been dropped because a witness died."

...more on the subject.

...what an ignoble ending to this trial.
