@paphitis

If it is obvious to 'everyone' that Russia was behind this , then why is Trump saying he has seen no evidence that Russia is behind it ? Why no response from Trump at such a blatant attack ? Not even 'strong words' ? Can you explain that for me please.

Just for the record.

Alexander Litivenko was a much decorated member of the Russian counter intelligence services, specialising in counter terrorist operations and the infiltration of organised crime. He eventually ended up a member of Putin's inner circle. He became disillusioned about Russian government connections with organised crime. How unusual! To cut a long story short he and his family fled Russia and came to the UK by a pretty complex process, ending up citizens there, he working for the oligarch - a billionaire who had also fallen out with Putin - Boris Berezovsky. With intimate knowledge of Putin he was the man who coined the phrase "Mafia state". After a request Litivenko agreed to meet 2 FSB men in the Millennium hotel, Knightstbridge. Subsequently he fell violently ill and was admitted to hospital with what turned out to be Polonium 210 poisoning. His death bed statement accused Putin of organising his poisoning.

"Anti Russian theatrics!"

Sergei Skripal was a Colonel in the Russian GRU and for a while was Director of their personnel department. He was arrested in 2004 and charged with being a double agent for the west. He was convicted and sentenced to 12 years. Subsequently he was released in a prisoner exchange deal (you know, with that hot blonde in the US  :D ).

Instead of sticking to the normal quiet retirement protocol for such events Skripal toured, teaching western intelligence agencies about the GRU. Putin made a comment about such people getting topped. The Russian ambassador in the UK denied it but you can easily find it on Youtube. In the winter of 2018 two Russian GRU guys arrived in the UK, checked into a motel in London, went to Salisbury the next day. Went there again the next day. Apparently they had this deep interest in visiting the cathedral there, although they never actually did. CCTV had them within walking distance of the Skripal's house, All the rest is history. Dawn Sturgess died from their activities but - let's be honest - who gives a fuck? I have read all sorts of total bollox on this forum about these activities. Total wankers who to me are the same as those in the UK in the 1930s who preached what's all the fuss about over that wonderful Mr Hitler. Verstehst du?

"Anti- Russian theatrics".

I could post lots of examples of the enemies of Putin being "taken care of" but TBH, what's the point?

30,000 killed pa in the US? Another straw man

I hear 1000 were run over by Chinese buses in 2019.

Anyway, like I said. Total waste of time.

BTW - "So start using that little pea under the scalp..." Obviously metaphor of the week. Imagine it makes you feel clever and........................ brave?

Wakeup call for a special kind of idiot…

Well that’s based on the assumption that Trump is the official spokesperson of the US, when all the while it was Paphitis! 8)

Because he is politicising it as behind the scenes Trump and Pootin see eye to eye on many things. It’s political, diplomatic double speak. When it suits them, they turn a blind eye. If it was Assad, there would be strong words. Rules for some, and not others. That has always been the case.

He knows who is responsible. If US Intelligence do t know it, then I’ll eat my hat. And Trump would have received his briefs. And THAT is information not open to the public.

You are more than likely to get accurate information wrt this from Germany, France, Australia, UK who have a genuine axe to grind with Diktator Pootin. Trump and Pootin are pals.

And I don’t understand why you would bother. What difference does it make to us? We know Pootin is a Diktator. Can we do anything about it? Most certainly not. Will Pootin admit it? Never! Will he change and not do it again? Probably not.

So why would you waste your time? If you want to get at Pootin, then stop the Nordstream and commence other sanctions. Words are empty, even if they appear strong. The only thing that matters is hitting Russia’s economy.

I mean it comes down to this!

We know Pootin is a criminal mafiosi. But there are more pressing issues than Pootin which are more urgent.

Let’s say he knocks off an opposition politician. Why do we actually care?

I mean we do. We feel sorry for the victim and their family. But how affective do you think Trump’s condemnation will be other than piss Pootin off at a time when Pootin and Trump are scheming in places like Libya with France.

I think there are other things at play such as the future carve up of Turkey to form a Kurdistan, and cede territory to Armenia. They are playing geopolitics.

What comes out of politicians mouths is worthless, unless they are willing to take it a step further and apply sanctions.

Aha! So you now turned us into left wing Putin worshipers, just to balance your own prehistoric anti communism - anti leftist brainwashing. I am personally indifferent and neutral.

Precicely. I personally don't give a shit. We have far more important problems here in Cyprus to deal with.
We are not Australian lilliputian bulls, who have nothing better to deal with, other than sentimental crap like "we hate Putin-we don't like Putin-we don't want to have anything to do with them, let them close their embassy and go to hell"

You guys are completely wrong if you think Pootin is left wing.

he is extreme right wing. far more right wing than Trump. The GOP is very centrist and moderate in the USA. No different to other right wing parties in Cyprus like DYSI

there is nothing at all moderate about Pootin. He is a lot closer to General Pinochet of Chile or The Greek Junta, and makes them both look like poofy wannabes. Pootin is the real deal here. I would say, FASCIST in every sense. The closest you can get to Hitler other than Chi Chi Peanut and maybe Erdowan. This is where Pootin sits. The modern day totalitarians or authoritarian states.

People talk about Trump being right wing. This is where the derangement syndrome actually does exist. Because if we would display outrage at far right or fascist ideals, then Pootin is your man.

I think some of you long for the old Soviet days under the Soviet Communist Regime. Those days died nearly 30 years ago.

And how would you describe Pootin then?

Can you compare him to Macron, Trudeau, Ardern, Morrison, Anastasiades, Mitsotatakis, BORIS or anyone else you can think of? NO! You Can't. He is hardly your liberal democrat. And he certainly isn't left or Socialist.

You can only compare him to the likes of Erdowan, and Chi Chi Peanut.

Russia, is a totalitarian or Authoritarian State. I don't state that because I have anything against Russia or pootin. I am just stating a FACT! Russia is no New Zealand or Canada.

More like a General Pinochet or even Greek Junta figure.

Again, I don't say that due to any bias. It's just the way it is in Russia. They are not a free country. The only thing we can say is that he isn't as Authoritarian perhaps as Saudi Arabia or Assad. But he is well on that spectrum.
