It's a long time now that Russians think Poland will grab Ukrainian lands.
Belarus said that if that happens they will also invade Ukraine.

Are these not what Stalin took from Poland and gave to Ukraine after the second world war with full agreement of UK and America at Yalta?

I actually never cared to learn anything about USSR or the ex-Soviet Republics.
In fact one year ago I wouldn't even know where Ukraine was on the map.

Neither does most Americans despite their government sending billions in weapons to Ukraine. :D

Then again, most Americans couldn’t find the countries on the map it has gone to war with.

...there must be dozens of stories just like this one, from both sides of the conflict; why is this one so important?

It is news, you read it; thank Pyr, and thank the internet, everyone is spoon feeding you the news: you must dig for the truth, choose.

...just like food some of it is poison, some you find bring comfort, some are good for you but you don't like; news (to be the Truth) needs balance.

Anything to do with the "legal of course" or "not so legal" theme?

Perhaps they had challenged each other to a Duel and that they were both a crack shot.

They will both be missed! :)

I'm waiting for Pyrpro to come in and show us the - ink not dry from the St Petersburg I.R.A. - "proof" the estimated 60 dead in the Luhansk school bombing was something actually carried out by Azov Nazis. You know, to make the Russian air force look bad. Spoiling their image of being humanitarian bombers in Ukraine, sorta thing.
