Why did Russia invade Ukraine and has Putin's war failed? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-56720589

For the most part, an interesting read for the uninformed, the gullible, the ignorant and the Ukraine cheerleaders!

Which is why I’ve oft expressed a reluctance to post linked articles. Few, if any, get to straddle the fence.

Out of interest, which parts do you particularly take issue with? Specifically.

It's not your fault LR. You did not write it. My issue is with the author. I don't have the time right now to get into it.

I actually understand his suspicions regarding the origin of the missiles.
What I pity him for is his own foolishness and the foolishness of most Ukrainians and Polish who think Nato (better say the Americans themselves) would ever start WW3 over Ukraine.
The Americans said it clearly: what they are interested for is to inflict as much damage to Russia as possible WITHOUT much of a damage to themselves.
It turned out the Europeans will pay most of the price, but that's still good news for the Americans waiting for all German automotive industry to relocate in America.
Audi is already preparing it's suitcases.

One missile doth not a WW3 make.

Unless somebody does something really stupid (you know, like invading your neighbours) there won't be any WW3. Should it happen I can't escape the suspicion that Mr Putin might just have had something to do with it.

Audi are thinking of setting up their EV factory, a first for them in the USA, because of the attraction of federal tax credits.

FWIW. I bought a BMW Z3 when I lived here in the late 90s which was made at their factory in Spartenberg, South Carolina.
