The Cyprus summer reminds me of that Swatz-his-name movie where he’s in a glass domed world over on Mars and gets out for some reason, and starts getting cooked out in the open on the sand dunes, and his eyes start popping out!

I’ll never forget that horrid scene... that’s how I feel every summer on the island of geckos and beetles. :?

I have driven through Death Valley many times. Very fascinating place, especially in the summer where it gets very hot, 50+C, and when the wind blows, it like a full power hair dryer blowing in your face. It has the lowest point in the USA, “Bad Water”!

Why would someone want to drive through there? :?

How long a drive was it and what precautions did you take?

You know if you get stuck there you’re dead!

You’re a higher risk taker than I had you down for...

I would take road trips to Las Vegas from San Francisco via Death Valley, with an overnight stay at Mammoth Lakes (8,000+ft) during summer months driving over the Yosemite Parks’ Tioga Pass at 10,000ft, dropping to Mono Lake. Beautiful scenery. Death Valley drive through would take about 4-5 hours with lunch at Furnace Creek. There is one main Park Ranger station and Visiters Center and a petrol station at Furnace Creek too. One needs to drive over couple of passes at 4,000-5,000 feet. Amazing landscapes at different locations in Death Valley. US Air Force jets often practice there too with low passes across the valley floor. Just need to make sure you have plenty of water, fuel and a working air conditioning. If a break down, stay with the car and don’t wander off for God sake. There are Air and Road patrols by the Park Rangers to bring help if stranded. Just stay with the car.

I have taken far bigger risks in life than driving through Death Valley in hot summers!

Oh right, sounds like there’s a busy highway with services along the way... not the remote desolate desert I imagined that would require a 4×4 etc.

It is a two-lane road for the most part, but there are areas where there are dirt roads which 4x4 would be very helpful, especially during flash-flooding.

I fly over to Switzerland where I’m greeted by Kikakopoulos at the airport and he then drives me to the nearest motel not too far from his home.

My fantasy assumes that he lives in an alpine area at around 1500ft.

During the next few days he puts me in touch with a couple of local real estate agents so I can pick and buy a nice chalet.

Two weeks later I’ve got the perfect little chalet which is only half a kilometre away from the cozy Kikakopoulos home.

Kikakopoulos’ wife is a somewhat chubby, busty local girl who always wears the traditional alpine Swiss attire with the low-cut white blouse, milks cows early in the morning and spends the rest of the day making cottage cheese and baking delicious cakes.

We all have lightweight off-road bicycles for transport and meet half way at a scenic location that overlooks a mountainous range.

Cows stroll by with bells hanging off their necks that echo in the lush-green valleys.

Kikakopoulos pulls out of his magic fold-able table and chairs and we find ourselves sitting and chatting at the most tranquil of settings as his busty wife lays out the tasty morsels on the table from her picnic basket for us to consume.

And this is where the fantasy gets kinda funny because at some stage Kikakopoulos punches me in the face because I keep staring at her big milky tits! :?

Bravo GR. For a moment I too got caught up in your fantasy story and had a big grin on my face sitting in my armchair until my wife slapped me across the face for staring at her big tits with eyes wide open!

Have you ever seen the clip of a child being held by his mother and some woman approaches them with a low cut dress and big tits and as soon as the child focuses on the tits, he starts smiling and salivating in the mouth? You are about the same age group. I bet you two have never had a woman with big tits. If you did you would not have such fantasies.

Who is being dumb ass now GR.

Where did I say you will not enjoy it or that they sag. When one has something there is no need to fantasize it. You must be a closets homosexual to to extrapolate what you did from what I wrote. You only fantasize if you have never had it.

Just like you are fantasizing a chalet on the Swiss Alps which is something you have never had. When in fact you have a perfectly good piece of high ground not too far away from you and you can even build a nice chalet there. How much can one small plot cost on the side of the mountain.

So basically your daft theory is...

Lordo wrote:When one has something there is no need to fantasize it.

Pretty much everyone has a wife and had other women in the past, but it doesn’t stop them from fantasising a harem!

I’ve got three cars but it doesn’t stop me from fantasising a garage full of luxury sports cars!

I’ve got a pretty big and comfortable home but it doesn’t stop me from fantasising a cosy little wooden chalet in the Swiss alps, eh?

As for your dried out Cypriot villages at 40°C... you can have them!

So stick to your fantasies and I’ll stick to mine!

A weird story...

I was at the Burswood casino resort one evening when I came across a half-cast Australian aboriginal girl that looked surprisingly pretty hot as she leaned her elbow at a bar and looked on.

She was dressed pretty hot, was in her early 20s and a few meters away sat what appeared to be her clan of about 6-7 ugly and older Aboriginal females chatting away.

I approached and chatted her up and after a few minutes we seemed to have hit it off and I was readying to take her home, when all of a sudden the matriarch got up, approached us and goes...

“You like her?”

And I replied... “Absolutely, she’s gorgeous!”

And she goes... “Buy us 7 beers and she’s yours!”

And I’m like... “What? What do you mean buy you beers... I’m happy to buy her a drink but why should I buy the rest of you?”

And she goes with a raised voice... “Well you ain’t getting no cunt then!”

And she grabbed and pulled the young girl away by the arm, got the rest of the clan to rise and they walked away and disappeared into the crowd!

And I stood there flabbergasted thinking... WTF just happened?

It only occurred to me later that they were using the young girl to lure men so they could have a free round of drinks!

Addendum:

Mind you... these days when I think about it she was more than worth the $20-25 bucks the 7 beers would’ve costed, but back then the concept of paid sex was unknown to me! :)

What you experienced there first hand was how the British destroyed the culture of the Native Australians, got them hooked on alcohol and stole all their land and resources. And all you had in mind was just a fuck and 10 pounds seemed a lot of money to you. Of course if you are on minimum wage that would be understandable.

Lets get back to culture. Cypriots have been living on the island for more than 10,000 years. The environment although fluctuates, it has remained stable in that time. We have built houses to live in this environment but unfortunately since the 60s the Cypriots have been fooled into thinking that the modern brick buildings with 2.4 m high flat ceiling and roof with rendered and painted walls are better.

When in fact the older 45cm thick walls double layer of stone and mud brick on top with a ceiling about 4 m high with marble floors were far better for winter and summer. So while the townies got roasted in the summer and froze in the winter, all we needed was a hot water bottle and a woolen sheet and a proper Cypriot duvet in the winter and in the summer we slept outside under the orchard watching shooting stars put us to sleep.

Did a very similar trip back in 2014. Had a boot full of water, just in case :)

I recall arriving at Marathon lakes to hear Robin Williams had died that day. Very sad.
