Here're some words of Turkish origin:

Tenekes.
Bakallis.
Ghoursouzis.
Gotzamou.
Sedouji. :shock:
Tsimbouji. 8)

Never heard of those gr words... have heard and use the words above though... teneke .... lovely word (has it got a bit of English in it as well?)... oh and used to have a Saturday job in a bakkalis in youth.

:) you can do it...........but if you say (δοχειο) you will never get a tenek(e) you might have a Tupperware :lol: :lol:
with καπνοσυριγγα you might get siringio operation :lol: :lol: :lol:

That also reminds me of the T word: 'Şiringa' an injection. Obviously As Oracle would put it 'stolen' from the Greeks

Who can give me the Cypriot word for tinned meat?

I expect that it is used by all of our ethnicities!

You can add the bits that determine what kind of meat it is.

Ahhaaa! TSibouki = Çubuk. a smoke pıpe as you say or something of that shape.
