Yesterday you were giving a very different definition of what you believe a God to be: Omnipotent, Omnipresent etc, and possibly a lot more things as described in the bible. Now God can be just some material?

Those are properties of what's expected of a "God" but God's composition can be something we know nothing about.... magic dust even... who knows.

If we are going to debate about something then we have to first agree what that something is. It is very different to argue that there might have been some yet unknown material which was necessary at the initial stages of our universe, and quite another thing to argue that there is a God who designed everything and who is now looking at us, and cares about what we do.

As much I'm fascinated by the bible I'm not convinced yet that it's the word of God... I haven't reached a conclusion yet.

I also don't believe in a personal God that helps people out through prayer etc, because I haven't seen any evidence of God intervening.

Don't know mate. I don't think Science really knows either, but there is the Big Bang Theory but it is a theory that is ever expanding with new discoveries. Now they are talking about dark matter and anti matter and there is a debate that Black Holes existed before the Big Bang and that they caused it.

There is a lot more going in in the Physics world than any Bible.

This is the "Problem of evil" which I do not think is a good argument against the existence of a God as described by the bible. If there is a God and infinite heavenly afterlife, what does it matter if your "earthly" life is for 3 or for 99 years? Compared to infinity there is practically no difference between 3 years and 99 years. Like everything else life is valuable because it is scarce. This is the only life we have and this is why every year and every moment matters. But if you believe there is good evidence for a God and endless afterlife, then the "Problem of evil" shouldn't be a problem at all and you shouldn't be concerned about how long and how nice you life is. The only thing you should care about is how to get to Heaven and not to Hell.

If somebody cares about how long and how good his life is it is a good indication that such a person realizes that this is the only life he will ever have and didn't believe in God and afterlife to begin with.
