This happens often when there are personality clashes in the cockpit. Seen it so many times.

We had a case once when an FO under line training, who was with one of our hardest Captains in the fleet, felt harassed and bullied and was about to walk off at Sydney's Kingsford Smith. The FO did the right thing, and found a moment to call the Safety and Incident Manager. The claim was, he felt that flight operational safety was compromised due to the command style of the Captain, which could make an FO feel bullied. Not a good situation.

So safety was counseling the FO. He had 2 sectors left which would get him back to Brisbane. In the end, the FO gritted his teeth and flew the next 2 sectors back to Brisbane.

I was in Canberra as this was unfolding. Got hauled into the Chief Pilot's Office. Initially, they were going to put me in a car to drive to Sydney. Then, I was handed the FO's training file and was hand-balled with the job of getting the FO check ready. This FO was traumatized and without doubt did feel harassed and bullied. His confidence and self belief was totally destroyed. Had to fly the first 4 sectors myself on our first day together just giving him pep talks and some encouragement. If I couldn't get him to snap out of this rather poor state, he would have been fired.

Same FO is still an FO - fully checked and cleared to this day. I keep tabs on him through social media.

This is common in Australia especially with mixed military and civil crewing. Australian Flight Crews are notorious for it. Which is why I actually like flying in America. American Flight Crews are the best in the world as far as I am concerned. And their military pilots are also excellent. It's usually military guys that are the worst culprits and have the worst command styles for the civil scene. But American Military Pilots are just top notch and 99% are great guys as well. It's really a great environment.

American Military Pilots are very as a matter of fact and professional. The other thing to note about them is that the vast majority are actually GOP supporters and have an affinity to voting for people like Trump and De Santis (who is all the rage in America atm).

It's more likely you would get into trouble if you were vocally supporting Biden and Camela. They are persona's non-gratias in US Flight Decks - especially if you came from the US Military.

So, this captain and other bullies did not learn anything from the KLM/PanAm disaster in Tenerife 1977?

In general, American military has been GOP supporters for unknown reasons and that’s OK, but the military supporting someone like Trump who is everything against what the military stand for whom have taken an oath to uphold the US Constitution which protects Democracy, Freedom of Speech, Peaceful hand over power after presidential elections which Trump still hasn’t accepted defeat, then those military personnel and their families supporting Trump can only be described as being brain dead and are not true to their oaths or those who rap themselves with the American flag!

Please tell this from me to the ex military pilots you fly with and let’s see what they say!

Stop making things up! Trump did not violate the Constitution or the Military.

GOP are supported because traditionally, the GOP has been the most steadfast in protecing military families. The GOP has the most numbers of ex US Military now as US GOP Senators and Parliamentarians. Trump was the most prolofic in ensuring US Military people will be given positions in Government and Local Government Public Services, Industry, Police and other areas and that they have many entitlements to health, and social services and even cheap home loans.

Trump in addition to that was the most respecting of US Military lives as he was the least polemic US President in history.

And as patriotic as the Yanks really are, they really appreciate the fact that they didn't have to go to fight a bogus war based on a false pretext that Suddam had WMD. This is what the Democrats do, and its also what the establishment GOP does as well, like the Bush and Cheney Dynasty.

Trump, is not part of that swamp. Which is why people support him. Right now, many Americans believe (and it's true), that America is governmed by a bunch of criminals far worse than any Trump or De Santis. This is why, trump will be next POTUS and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

People are NOT stupid!
