Well, it was a joke of course. Nevertheless, that's about as close as it got back then I suppose.

Joke: something not to be taken seriously : a trifling matter

Then, perhaps you were lucky. Mine taught me a great deal, although every bit of it was how things shouldn't be done - by his example. That's why I opted for a self inflicted agoge at 16.

Congratulations on the spelling (I’ll let you off “debator” )You’re improving and even the standard of your trademark insults is edging up. I'm not sure why you have such an aversion to capital letters though. It's probably a state of mind thing.

It isn't really debate where you're concerned. You've never tended to go in for that, in any form. You just try and shout people down. You're good Momentum material.

i was under the impression that the whole point of a debate is to show that your opponent is full of shit.

That sums up your attitude problem (No 4 on the list  ). You presumably believe re-nationalising utility/transport companies (McDonnell’s plan actually amounts to thinly veiled theft) is a good idea. I think for a number or reasons it’s not. That’s called a difference of opinion. It doesn’t amount to showing either of us is “full of shit”.
