As I said some time ago in another post, you can guarantee in every election that Labour will accuse the Conservatives of planning to privatise/destroy the NHS. Like Christmas it’s a perennial ritual.

My own experiences in the past and those of close family more recently have put the NHS, with its £130,000,000,000 annual budget, in a very poor light. It’s a national holy cow though of course and whatever money’s thrown at it will never be adequate.

The video deals with specific claims that the Tories are making re the NHS as part of their campaigning. It deals with specific Tory claims and seeks to 'debunk' those specific claims. That CG does not believe in the NHS in principle does not change what is in the video. In every election BOTH parties pledge to support the NHS and accuse the other side of putting it at risk. I believe the degree to which they actual do that, if and when they have power, is however not the same regardless of which party is in power.

I’m not sure your view both main political parties claim the other is putting the NHS at risk is valid. If so though, then I’m think most would find it risible. Labour have always been perceived as the party with which the service is “safe” and their claims of its imminent destruction at the hands of the nasty party routine propaganda in elections.

I thought Brown’s massive expansion of PFI and the enormous debt it saddled the country with was pretty cynical. All in the cause of building hospitals and health facilities, with an active government bias towards marginal constituencies, whilst keeping it “off the books”. Moreover, it didn’t do him much good ultimately, did it?

At the end of the day, how do you define “privatisation”. :?

What is this 'believing in it' bollocks?

The NHS sucks in vast amount of taxpayer's money and provides poor service - service their customers are forced to pay for - in return.

Typical reply from you, ignore the harm done to children and their parents and instead bleat out, "you want to privatise the NHS"... Do grow up...

Our NHS is by far the BEST in the world.
Having suffered my loss of losing a wife and a daughter in law, having seen the immense care both had Im proud to be a part of a nation that gives free health care to all. I my self , a diabetic and a cancer patient I appreciate the immense value of our NHS. Don't let a millionaire Clown flog it to another millionaire Clown. It is OUR NHS.
One never knows when the need arises.
I have nothing but utter respect at the way that my late wife was treated for over 8 years during her battle with her cancer , same for my late 40 year old daughter in law who fought this dreadfull illness for 15 years.

https://www.thepoke.co.uk/2019/11/21/prat-patel-government-not-blame-poverty/

When told on BBC North West that 4 in 10 children in parts of Barrow in Cumbria are born into poverty, here’s some of what she said.
“Well it’s appalling. But of course everybody, and it’s not just people in Westminster, it’s not just at a national level it’s at a local level.
“It’s not the Government though is it? Everybody just says it’s the Government as if it’s this sort of like bland blob that you know, you can just go and blame.
“Because it’s all parts of society and the structures. Local authorities have a role to play, education and public services, which are locally led and locally run.”

it is not government's fault. who the fuck's fault is it you brain dead psycho?
we have 900,000 people on zero hours contratc with minimum pay of 8.21 and hour and they may not get more than just a few hours a day. not my fault gove, yeah sure assholes the lot of you, you swines.

Of course it is...

Tell that to the people in the story I linked to... The ones that survived anyway...

In fact, tell that to my daughter who screamed in pain throughout her Cesarean because the wonderful NHS staff wouldn't believe (or didn't care) that the spinal anaesthetic hadn't been administered properly...

See if those people share your views of the NHS.

Potty mouth...

You know they actually measure this stuff don't you...?

They actually measure and compare different health services from around the world and publish the results.

And the fascinating think is that the NHS always comes first! Yes, that is right, they always come out on top!

But when you look at the results (a sample attached) see where they score well... access, availability, equity. All things you would expect from a 'free', available to all system.

But where does it fall down every year? Health outcomes, you know the important bit of keeping people alive and curing illness... Second to last...

But still, what are a few hundred deaths eh? Why should we aspire to be number 1 in health outcomes? Lets just keep throwing money at it and ignore the unlucky ones in their coffins...
