what is eally interesting is what pritti patel said today, you cannot make it up.

The government is not responsible for poverty in the UK, the home secretary has said.

Priti Patel attempted to absolve “people in Westminster” from blame over deprivation across the country and instead highlighted the role of local authorities and education services – which receive the bulk of their funding from central government.

“Well it’s appalling, and of course, but everybody – and it’s not just people in Westminster – it’s not just at a national level, it’s at a local level,” she said during a campaign visit to Barrow-in-Furness, in Cumbria, when questioned about how two in five children in some local areas were born into poverty.

Challenged that the government was responsible for poverty and the Tories had had almost 10 years to address the issue, Patel replied: “It’s not the government, though, is it? Everybody just says ‘the government’ as if it is this sort of bland blob that, you know, you can just go and blame.”

Pressed further, she added: “Actually, it’s, well, it’s not [the government’s fault], because it’s all parts of society and the structures. Local authorities have a role to play, education, public services, which are locally led and locally run.”

The former tobacco industry lobbyist’s comments where condemned by Labour. John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, tweeted: “Priti Patel’s claims in this video are yet another example of the Tory government’s cruelty. Local government has suffered enormously from vicious Tory cuts. Of course we can blame the Tory government for poverty.”

so far what have got?

promise 6 billion a year - to corporations cutting corporation tax by 2% which b'stard changed during his cbi speech without consulting anybody - now that's what i call democracy in action
promise of 9 billion a year - to people earning more than 50k a year.
promise of 1 billion a year - for social care and they promise not make elederly sell their homes.

and a colossul promise of 85 pounds per year to people who are earning less than 8000 pounds per year.
is there any other promises?

i love the tory party. i mean with principleslike that who needs enemies.

what kind of a stupid idiot would consider supporting such a party.

Limited time , not read all properly

CG why do you think the Tories do not campaign using your 'sense' re the NHS ? Do not say the things you do about it ?

Do you think that no matter what they actually say about the NHS, you know that really they will keep moving the health care in the UK to the sort of system you advocate anyway ? If you think that do you not imagine others might think it too ?

Has the IFS said anything about the Tory manifesto ? About how their 'numbers add up'. or not ? For that matter has guido reported on what the IFS has said about the Tory manifesto pledges ?

Do you recall what the IFS said before the referendum about what the cost would be of leaving the EU ? Do you remember Gove saying 'Britain has had enough of experts' before the referendum vote ? I do. I suspect many others do too. Just not sure if you do.

Here is another 'expert' that Guido will not be reporting on and that 'Britain has enough of'' no doubt.

http://www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2016 ... -70-years/

The Conservatives have been the biggest borrowers over the last 70 years

BTW CG what is your connection to this house ? https://www.uniquecyprusvilla.com/ Is it yours ? Are you looking to sell up ? Leave Cyprus (for an even lower tax regime location maybe) ?

it really is very clear. we built up a debt of 1000billion between 1945 and 2010 under all government put together and this debt included the 500billion the government gave to bankers and the tories pushed it up to 1800billion in 9 years and they consider this as good economic performance.

i cannot understand how anybody that has half a brain cell does not see it.

is your brain so poisoned that because they helped you evade some tax, they can do no wrong.
