Scots cancer deaths soar as 900 patients die at home during lockdown

Lockdown has been linked to an increase of almost 900 cancer patients dying at home, official figures reveal.

The statistic gives one of the clearest indications yet of the toll Covid-19 has taken on NHS services.

The National Records of Scotland data shows an extra 873 fatalities at home between March 16 and June 29 compared to the five-year average over the same period.

Meanwhile, there were 575 fewer cancer deaths than normal in hospitals – at a time when wards were being emptied and admissions severely restricted.

Who knew Lockdown would cause extra deaths eh...?

NHS Consultant Says Staff Are Being Silenced Over COVID-19

In my opinion, and that of many of my colleagues, there has been no Covid Pandemic, certainly not in the Surrey region and I have heard from other colleagues this picture is the same throughout the country. Our hospital would normally expect to see around 350,000 out patients a year. Around 95,000 patients are admitted to hospital in a normal year and we would expect to see around a similar figure, perhaps 100,000 patients pass through our A&E department. In the months from March to June (inclusive) we would normally expect to see 100,000 out patients, around 30,000 patients admitted to hospital and perhaps 30,000 pass through A&E. This year (and these figures are almost impossible to get hold of) we are over 95% down on all those numbers. In effect, the hospital has been pretty much empty for that entire period.

I'm expecting much more of this type of stuff coming out world-wide over the next year...

Agreed, probably not the most reliable source I've ever linked to....

However, you don't have to look far to find similar stuff at more reliable sites...

Hopefully you will find the following source more credible:

news today in Australia is that a Chy-na Virus Vaccine prototype has been made in Australia and human trials on 1000 humans have begun today...

Ordinarily, it will take 12 months for the virus to be commercially available to the wider public and that's if and only if the trials proceed without any hitch. Any problems and 12 months will blow out to more. That due to the stringent pharmaceutical regulations and standards in Australia, some of the toughest regulations in the world.

They could however, given the circumstances, fast track it to 3 months or 6 months, at some risk to the public and consumers. depends how crazy things get.

So Kiks, can you give any evidence that Lockdown has worked anywhere...?

I'd refer you to my link above about Cancer deaths in Scotland and also (once again) give you Sweden...

It’s anything but credible... it’s just downright biased, but stupid you for expecting a financial institution to support lock-downs! :)

But you know what, even if we were to find a way to eliminate Covid-19 we can never eliminate the world’s biggest problem, which is none other than sheer stupidity because it’s hereditary!

See what I mean people by "hereditary stupidity"? Grumpy demonstrates this perfectly here!

Can anyone provide me with credible evidence that Londoners taking refuge in underground railways during WWII bombings, saved lives ? :?

Or rather maybe we should be asking... Is a preventive measure quantifiable?

Really? Got a formula?
