It looks as if the "glitch" has been sorted.

Perhaps it’s because you have applied for it earlier than yesterday, Multi.

I have just phoned the local bus company in Limassol to check if services were still operating and to my surprise they said they were. It seems you must have obtained permission to go out before you can get on a bus:

Just got an immediate response to my text for dog walk. Greek, then in English my details + “valid for a reasonable amount of time”. Passport used.

I have just received almost instant permission to go out based on an SMS using my British passport number. I am moving towards the 21st century, Mili!

...given that not all the population is computer literate, what does someone do if they are unable to use a computer; are there other options?

Good luck to you all. Hope everything pans out well for all.

Still no lock down in Australia although different states have different rules with some states closing borders.

Cruise ships are being told to move on and they don't let any passengers disembark. Londonrake, lucky you got your cruise in when you did.

In a bizarre twist of fate, the virus is actually saving far more lives than it is taking!

Without the worldwide lock-down countless millions would’ve died in the last 1-2 months from road accidents, work accidents, murders, and from a whole bunch of other ways.

However, this global lock-down also means that most economies will be ruined by the summer; when the virus is expected to subside and/or a solution may be found.

I guess we will be returning to the dark days of the loan sharks like the IMF and the EU, who will probably have 2/3 of the world as customers this time round!

Also, there may not be enough money to bail every country out and to the extent that may be necessary!

I certainly don’t look forward to what’s coming... perhaps the lucky ones are those gone or going from the virus!

That’s a novel thought. Also, I did read yesterday that so far the majority of those who’ve expired with the virus in the UK were thought quite likely to have died from their other maladies within the next year or so anyway.

As for the rest of your post, I was always an admirer of your sunny, optimistic outlook.
