I do agree with you that general public, especially mainstream Americans do have a very short memory span, but come election time, all the videos in the public domain will be used to remind the public of all those politicians who really do not respect the constitution, democracy and the flag. It will be a big stick to use to beat them with, and just as an example, even without the insurrection, Republicans lost two senate seats in Georgia just for Trump’s madness after the election.

I think - not that what I think really matters  - the critical factor will, again, be how Joe does.

I’m reading, with a sense of unease, that the Chinese are issuing threats against Taiwan. For I believe the first time in that context using the word “war”. And that there have been 20 incidents of Chinese fighter aircraft deliberately violating Taiwanese airspace since Biden picked up the baton. Perhaps he won’t get much of a honeymoon.

China/Taiwan issue has been going on for years regardless of American leadership. Just like Hong Kong, Taiwan will too become part of China sooner or later. No one will go to war with China to prevent the inevitable of Taiwan becoming part of China. At the same time, it is not in China’s best interest to take Taiwan by force. Just as how they are doing with Hong Kong, it will be a slow Osmosis method too with Taiwan.

Business Insider
Trump's fall from grace won't just damage his political career. His businesses will suffer too, according to a PR expert.

Trump's businesses will suffer in the aftermath of his presidency, PR expert Eric Schiffer told Insider.

Even prior to the Capitol siege, revenues at his businesses plummeted during the pandemic.

"If you're a brand manager ... you'd avoid Trump," Eric Schiffer added.

Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.

It's not only his political career that has been hit by former president Donald Trump's plummeting reputation. His businesses will suffer, too.

This is the view of PR expert Eric Schiffer, who told Insider that by becoming the enemy of the people, Trump will destroy any revenue potential his brand could have had. He called it a "modern-day brand suicide."

"There will be blood against his economic possibilities," he added.

I have to disagree partly with you on Taiwan. The (I agree long standing) issue’s been quiet for some time. Even after Don made them choke off China’s chip supply in his trade war efforts, putting Huawei up the proverbial creek without a paddle (Taiwan’s apparently the World’s current No 1 supplier of advanced micro chips). The fighter incursions are also a recent twist.

They’re clearly testing the Biden waters.

Ohh dear. I would say "It's started" but if you were able to see some of the gaffes that managed to get out last year you'd know that wasn't the case at all.

I hope this man has a lot of good people around him. The impression given so far though is they're mostly a group of unimpressive Obama-era retreads.

But surely China would have tested Trump waters if they wanted to invade Taiwan, from a leader who was not going to send any US troops to any wars in the world. That sounded like an open invitation by Trump for anyone to invade whomever, no?

This would have been major headlines on Fox News, but didn’t see it there, or perhaps Biden not adding the word “million” after the 300 was not a big deal for them, if in fact that’s what had actually happened.
