The Afgani's had a 300k strong security force, equipment and whatever else but corruption and a couldnt care less attitude allowed the country to fall back in to the Talibans hands.

They probably have more sympathizers and supporters among the local population than we could imagine.

But what I am more convinced about is, most Afganis are probably happy to see the end of the western occupation of their country.

Really Max! Then explain the scenes at Kabul Airport.

One of my favourite shopping precincts is actually a little place we affectionately refer to as “little Kabul”. I have not seen one happy Afghani about this. Not one!

Shocking! some morons tried to cling on to the plane while it was taking off.

The Taliban were there armed with machine guns and rpg's. They could have created a massacre,

They didnt though.

You stupid cunt. You are talking about people who have lost their lives because of the action they took to live as they feared certain death. Go find a fuking cesspool and fuckin jump in it. Idiot.

His life wasnt in immediate danger, there were thousands of people there.

He could have got in his car, and drove to Pakistan, Iran or Tajikistan.

Go cling on to a plan that is about to take off, you imbecile.

You people are some heartless imbeciles.

What does that tell you? That they are desperate? It might not be a smart move of course but what is it that drives human beings to such actions?

Did they wake up and decide to run along with a Galaxy with its engines running, in danger of ingestion, and cling to the side of the aircraft about to take off just for kicks and laughs?

Go to sleep the lot of you!

Both of you are more than morons. You are heartless.

And friggin dream on that the Taliban will use an RPG on a USAF Galaxy. If they did that, I’ll give the Taliban 2 weeks of existence in Kabul because there is no way in hell the US wouldn’t fuck the Taliban over.

You lot know it. If the US wanted to, they would fuck the Taliban Goat herders to kingdom come. Problem is, they don’t want to atm.

That US Galaxy had 640 Afghans on board. Standing room only. The Americans on that plane were not heartless and did as much as their aircraft allowed them to do like a Noah’s Ark if you will. What the Americans did with one of those flights was humane.

So take a good look at yourselves boys. You are not like that American Flight Crew. They should remember their actions and be proud of themselves for what they did.

You asked me to explain the events at Kabul Airport,

And I did,

I did not once insinuate that the Taliban are going to fire at the plan,

They could have opened fire on the people though, but they didnt,

Those people were in no immediate danger. There are so many ways people can flee the country, like many of their compatriots already did.

Yes, i think those people trying to hitch hike on an airplane that is about to take off are morons.

Yes they did open fire.

They opened fire on a group of people rushing to the airport.

And I’ve seen a report that an Afghan that was working for Australian interests in Afghanistan as an interpreter was shot in the leg. This was a person who was to board an Australian aircraft. He eventually boarded his flight with a bullet in the leg.

And what do you mean they are in no immediate danger. What do you think is going to happen to many of them once all the allied troops are gone?

Do you think the Taliban will take them to the amusement park and drive those dodgem cars or something?

Geez!

OK Paphitis, 12 people died at the airport.

Of the thousands that were there, these people were not in immediate danger.

This is getting ridiculous now, you can justify the actions of a couple of people clinging on to a plane that is about to take off all you like, but I think they are morons.

I have nothing more to say.

Are you for friggin real?

They will never get the chance to leave Afghanistan and are condemned to a life of misery.

And those who actually worked for the coalition and don’t get out are probably cactus.

I’m not justifying their actions. How can I as its friggin guaranteed suicide. I have compassion for them. Sympathy.

They did not hurt the US Aircraft or crew. They acted desperately as desperate people that no one will help as we are abandoning them to their fate.

What are you meaning?

These people did nothing against us. They clinched onto the plane because they lost hope and were desperate.

What is so hard for you to understand?

I understand,

They could have left the country any other number of other ways and their life was not in any immediate danger.

what is so hard to understand?

Maybe but unlikely there Max.

The Taliban are controlling border crossings and virtually every single main road to anywhere.

Afghans can’t even cross the Pakistani border.

Chances of getting out and escaping the Taliban is minuscule. The only way for many to get out is if the Americans decide to control the Airport for a while and the international community do mercy flights to take as many as they possibly can.

Canada announced they would take 20,000 for instance. Well that would depend on whether the Americans keep the airport for the Canadians to at least get their 20,000 in.

Australia is taking 13000. I’m so happy about that. I have involved myself in the Afghan community here. I do a lot of my shopping in Afghan businesses in little Kabul. Some of my favourite restaurants and grocery stores are Afghan. As such, I feel I have made great contacts in that wonderful community and I actually think they are so great.

They are an amazing little community. Wonderful people. And as I said, they are tomorrow’s zillionaires. These people have seen so much in their lives. And because they are given an opportunity, they will take full advantage of it.
