The Afganis need to form a government, regroup and eradicate the Taliban.

or get on with it under Taliban rule.

But anyway Max. I look forward to the announcement from Anastasiades to take 500 Afghan refugees.

America can drop them off at Larnaca.

If not, I’m sure the Canadians or Aussies will be eager to help with transport.

They friggin did!

They made a lot of progress in the last 20 years and were helping themselves.

They built roads, universities and actually turned Kabul into an emerging Cosmo city.

Women were being educated and people had something to live for.

And they were even playing international cricket.

No they didnt, they gave it all up to to Taliban.

Their security forces didnt even put up a fight and they had the strength and equipment to do so.

Oh whatever hey. You think coming face to face with the Taliban is an easy thing to do?

Your CNG would have pissed their pants knowing you might not eat any more of mums pastitchio

Our finest soldiers spent years chasing them from cave to cave and I’m talking about real soldiers not little mummy boys

What are you talking about,

Why involve Cyprus in this?

For your information, the Cypriots fought against colonialism, then a civil war, against adversaries supported by nato countries, then fought against a brutal invasion and came out the other end quite prosperous with their freedoms intact.

That took two decades and who helped them?

The Afganis had Nato countries on their side, plus the support and the equipment that Cyprus didnt get.

So dont give me any wise guy cracks,

I don't know Max. It seems you are under estimating rebels like the Taliban.

Not easy fighting an enemy that you can;t see. And a brutal one at that.

They had the support till the day the rug was pulled from under them. What we did to them was demoralising.

You see Max, even our SAS troops were not particularly pleased going from one cave to the next looking for these very scary boogey men who just didn't even value their own lives.

Your own native country is occupied by a nato country and you want Nato to run around and fight for the Afganis? :?

No Max. I never said that either.

I am saying we should have kept a nominal international force in Afghanistan, helping them, training them, assisting them, and arm them to the teeth. For as long as it takes.

It is very clear from the events in the last few days, the Afghan Forces just were not ready. Coalition should not have withdrawn. The Americans would have known they were not ready.

I never said we should be chasing the Taliban from cave to cave. We did that years ago and we accomplished our mission successfully.
