Turkey’s balancing act on the high wire between Russia and the west is going to be a very difficult one. For Turkey, both sides of the stick is going to be shitty, especially in Syria and Libya, not to mention her economy whichever horse she backs here. This may decide once and for all whether Turkey belongs in the west or not.

It could work out oposite. Erdogan may get some favours from both sides being the go-between messenger boy. Assuming they are going to give gratiuties for any favours.

So Erdogan has done well out of this so far.

First a Nazi is allowed a platform in Canadian Parliament and now an Australian proudly hangs the Nazi flag in his garden. I wonder if he is originally from Ukraine.

What is even more interesting is that he did not see the Nazis as invaders to fight them, he saw them as friends to join the fight against the Russians. Russians were not the ones invading Ukraine, they were fighting to free Ukraine from the Nazis.

This thread gets more surreal by the week.

Russia didn't invade Ukraine? It went in to free the population from those terrible Nazis? Unfortunately killing tens of thousands of its civilians (yes I know - "They deserved it") and just about raising to the ground half of the place in the process. Not to mention millions of refugeed. Three cheers for the humanitarian Russians.

"Swineworld"? Do you mean the UK? Don't you use "Swineworld" media links to support a lot of your posts though. Isn't that................................?

Can't say I've personally read anything regarding the Ukraine being about to take Crimea. And, it's always seemed to me anyway that you can't trust casualty figures in this war from either side. Nor for that matter from members here (the Russians lost 600 in their 10 months of battle to take Bakhmut? ). And - TBH - who would believe them anyway? :?

It is interesting how the Swine poke their head up every so often make something up and hide in a rat hole again.

Now, I searched this website and all I got is this nothing about Ukrainian civilians. Have the Swine begun salivating in the mouth yet?

And now you can see who said it.

Well, don't know what you did there but........................ it's a mess.

And, despite your efforts to wriggle out of it, you definitely said in one of your Ukrainian Issue suck up posts that the (at the time)14000 civilian men, women and kids killed by the Russians "deserved it". Just before you popped off to La la land to complain about how the UK poor were being abused by Swine.

Hang on a moment. That is different. In any case it was not me who said it again. Your Swine friend said. Stop accusing me of things I I have not said or at least find some evidence.

How's that for spelling, any better?

No it wasn't different. And yes - that was your view.

Normally I would suggest you get some principles and stick to them. Far too late though. Like Groucho Marx you have some but if people don't like them, well, here are others. Thus, you can agree with the death of thousands of Ukrainian civilians, in order to suck up to team Russia, whilst thinking nobody notices your concurrent bleedin' heart posts about the abused poor in Swineland.

After the Holy Gospel, the Ecumenical Patriarch preached the Divine Word in English, where, among other things, he referred to Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine, saying that the Mother Church of Constantinople has asked, but without result, to end it, as well as the leadership of the Russian Church to stop encouraging its conduct.

However, the Patriarch pointed out, that there have been some brave clergy who have stood against the tide of bloodshed and brutality endorsed by their Bishops. And there were brave Russian souls who embraced what Saint Martin perceived when he said: “I am the soldier of Christ: it is not lawful for me to fight!”

As the Ecumenical Patriarch said, this is the message that is most necessary in the violent era we live in, and pointed out that we, who bear the name of Christ and call ourselves right-believing, we who are Orthodox, must rise to our vocation to be peacemakers, to be mercy-bearers, to be those who will sacrifice their own lives for the sake of love. (Read the Patriarchal homily here).
