This agreement between Zalizmenos and Trump, reminds me of the Goodfellas where the restaurant owner gives 50% of the profits for a bit of protection.

Exact same deal. I wonder if Trump has seen the film

Interesting question Inonu posed to Kucuk back in 1964. When Kucuk asked him to intervene in Cyprus and save the TCs from the GCs, he simply said: "We will come to save you from the GCs but who will save you from us?".

How true that was. Ukrainians would do well to understand the question here.

Fuck maaaaaan Tramp has been offered half of Ukrainian resources or at least what is left after Putin got his hands on some of it and Orange Blob is not happy.

It makes you wonder what did Starmer offer him to get the treatment he got.

Sounds like a great deal to me.

The USA gets half the 30% of Ukrainian natural resources Russia has left them with. Russia gets to keep the 20% of Ukraine they've taken over since 2014. Not forgetting, relief from all economic sanctions. Although, their only effect upon the Russian economy has apparently been to boost it.

In exchange, the Ukrainians get a solemn promise from Vladimir Putin there will be no more Special Military Operations and the US avows to protect its new Ukrainian assets.

Cue - Trump the peacemaker.

Probably followed by the great man being nominated for a Nobel peace prize. Well, come on, Obama got one for being black.

Having sacrificed some 250K men and God knows how much money on this war; I doubt that Russia will be satisfied with just the territory on the right hand side of a demarcation line.

Russia stated from the onset that they were going to liberate the four Russian-speaking states in their entirety (which they’ve already annexed) so that’s what I expect Putin will demand as part of the deal if the US is to have any joy in western Ukraine.

The second issue is that the Ukraine has negligible quantities of rare earth minerals so America may be rather disappointed if that’s all they’re interested in… because Lithium and similar (used in battery making) is not rare and can be purchased from many countries. Rare earth minerals (I think there’s 17 in total) are predominantly to be found in Russia and China.

The third problematic issue is the EU’s future:

Unfortunately, for us living under the EU I fear there are dark clouds descending upon us!

This is not because I fear of any further war once the Ukrainian issue finally ends, but because I fear an eventual EU economic collapse.

The European baboons in Brussels have just committed themselves to spending 800 billion Euros to improve/expand their militaries, but simultaneously they plan to keep spending unspecified billions to prolong the Ukraine war (presumably out of anti-Russian spite)… and we all know where that money will be going… down the drain flogging a dead horse! Oh, and in the pockets of the corrupt Ukrainian politicians.

The EU can only safely afford to do one or the other… they can’t afford to do both without EU citizens facing insufferable hardships and eventually EU citizens may have to rise in great protest leading to strife EU wide.
I fear there are dark days ahead for us because Brussels is too authoritarian (undemocratic), too selfish and too criminal to care about their citizens. :(

Finally, I’ll quickly cover the US alliance pivot in the next message which many people in the West don’t seem to understand.

Why the US pivot in alliances?

The US needs Russia on their side to confront the future (China + India) threat. Trump knows the Chinese respect and fear Russia so he’ll have an advantageous position against them if he forms an alliance with Russia.

Russia has already proven its worth as a potential strong ally having taken on 40+ enemies for three long years and still dominating the Ukraine!

Europe on the other hand is not terribly useful in the global arena to the US, due to their small size, declining wealth, declining military technology and numbers, and overall declining status.

Also, NATO is useless in this day and age and a major thorn against Russia, so I expect NATO to be dismantled before the end of this year and I also expect “Article 5” to be declared suspended soon “until further notice” by the US, and to never return.

It is expected that Europeans will rush to form something military amongst them but I don’t expect anything solid or of global status to eventuate. It’ll probably be confined to a defense pact like the Warsaw pact.

The US must be visualizing the future to be…

(US + RUSSIA) vs (CHINA + INDIA)

Or the new West vs East alliances, if you prefer.

However, Russia already holds all the cards in this arena having laid all the right foundations in the last 5+ years (China and India are Russia’s new customers and the key to Russia’s economic prosperity in the last 3 years), so the US will have to bend over backwards for Russia if this necessary alliance is to materialize.

The US knows that it cannot afford to find itself in an isolated situation whereby the layout would be...

US vs (RUSSIA + CHINA + INDIA) + BRICS

If they are to survive and prosper, let alone dominate the future.

Welcome back.

And for some refreshingly well reasoned opinions. Not that (first impressions) I agree with them all of course. :D
