Surely ...... NATO and Russia ARE at war with one another? Ukraine is just the cannon fodder chosen to die for the US and NATO! That is why NATO countries, well some of them, keep sending them all these weapons. What baffles me is that IF Ukraine is winning this war as some would have us believe and destroying Russian forces in the tens of thousands ........ why do they constantly need more weapons.

And Ukraine is defending its territorial integrity. Russia attacked Ukraine by sending its cannon fodder to die in Ukraine and that is what they are doing. Fertilising the Ukrainian lands with Russian fertiliser.

I went for the interview in Germany for the job in Iran, the day Saddam marched into Kuwait ...... that was 2nd Aug 1990.

I was sitting in the lounge of our Bandar Mashar residence about mid-Jan 1991...... when at about 9pm, all the windows rattled, the house shook and the sky was lit with flashes. Then the distant rumble of explosions across the salt flats that divided us from Iraq. We stood on the terrace and watched ..... and worked out that the payback had started. The response to Saddams invasion of Iraq !

Some days later the sky was black all through the day when Saddam set fire to the oil wells. It was like that for weeks until the Hungarians used modified tanks to snuff them out.

So it took NATO nearly 5 months to get themselves organised and that was done without much military response from Iraq ..... who were digging in!

So how long would it take for NATO to up the ante and move troops into Ukraine ...... against a well prepared Russia? How long have they been arguing about supplying weapons to Ukraine .... let alone fighting for them. They would need months of meetings before even coming to a decision. Russia is a single force with a practised leadership who can make decisions in a matter of hours ...... as we have already seen them do!

So I doubt NATO would be very keen on confronting the Russians ...... would chose the status-quo and let Ukrainians go on dying for the US's geo-political and territorial ambitions.

Firstly, who do you want them to fight? A European Country of substance? Australia? Japan? South KJorea? Who?

Merika is a law abiding country that will not start a war with 99.9% of contries. The only thing it will do is enter a war others started, like Iraq1, or when they have been attacked themselves (Afghanistan) or for some other pressing reason.

And secondly, Iraq did have substance, and so too Serbia, and not to mention Germany, Italy and Japan.

And they carry themselves just fine, and obviously are far better and superior to the Russian Military.

If Russia wants to find out the hard way, it can attack Merika. but it looks like Russia is already finding out via US Proxy Aid to Ukraine and is already being fucked up real good!

NATOIand Merika gave Iraq ample opportunity to leave Kuwait - clearly the preferred option for everyone as it would have avoided a military response from the west. That's what the west does and in addition to this, it takes time to get all the logistical support structures in place. You will not see the west go in half cocked. And for all we know, Saddam could have withdrawn and that would have been a win for everyone, including Iraq and its people.

If Russia attacked any NATO member, the response would be immediate, especially of nukes are involved. US ICBMS would be launched even before Russia's nukes have a chance to reach their targets and it is likely they won't reach their targets due to the massive Air defence Infrastructure of NATO - something Russia does not have to the same capability and quality of the west. Not when Ukraine is sending over 1960s ballistic missiles hundreds of kms into Russia - Russia has buckleys chance against an ICBM.

secondly, NATO will not start a war with Russia EVER! they will only respond to whatever Russia starts. NATO is not an organisation that even allows them to attack another country. They are purely defence and security focused on the security and territorial integrity of its member states. That's it!

The whole point of NATO is the defence of western europe from another recalcitrant who thinks it may be wise to follow in Hitler's footsteps. And it looks like we have a viable candidate who is trying to do that in Pootin. Problem is, his military is already being wiped out in Ukraine. Thanks to Merika and allies. And thanks to the Ukrainian Military who I must give due credit to as they are definately doing the heavy lifting here and giving a very good account of themselves and showing tenacity none of us have seen before from another country in a very long time. Ukraine is doing all the hard work. What Merika and allies are doing is easy compared to what Ukraine is doing and achieving.
