Yes, I expect the same standards as the Airline Industry. It is rather sad that you do think this to be appropriate. Very sad.

So you admit you have no idea how it could be achieved? Much as you have no idea about Nitrox?

Basically you think you can expect to read detailed technical information on a free internet link...? Do you believe everything you read on the Internet by the way? :?

Essentially, you want to pay bus fare prices but get Rolls-Royce transport.

Of course I know how it could be achieved.

They can start with a good dose of "attention to detail" for a start.

Fact is, there would be no issue at all if the journalist who wrote the diving article paid due diligence and was more accurate and factual.

No, the fact is that CM is a tiny 'newspaper' with just a few employees...

The fact is that the jobbing 'journalist' who also seems to write just about every other section miss-edited a press release because he is not an expert on diving.

The fact is that you didn't even pay for the thing yet you expect the accuracy of a trade journal.

The fact is you can't believe everything you read on the internet or in the newspapers - most people are intelligent enough to know that.

The fact is you dig a bigger hole for yourself every single time you post!

The size of the publication makes no difference. There are major publications much larger and which are even a part of the New limited Global Network belonging to Rupert Murdock with unlimited resources that are also guilty of the very same.

And you don't need the resources of news limited to make a phone call to verify all the facts prior to publications. It would take a simple phone call and not more than a couple of minutes in time.

I'm not digging any holes here because I expect some professionalism and attention to detail from media outlets.

Then you can expect to continue to be disappointed can't you!

I'd suggest given the real world economics of these things that you start using your own brain (or ask an adult) to work out what is real and what is not...

...and if you are unable to do that then at least stop bleating on about some ill-perceived mistake on the internet and making a fool off yourself.

I'm not diappointed.

I am just a consumer of media that expects more professionalism and accuracy. There is nothing at all foolish about that.

You say that you expect everything published on the Internet to be 100% accurate.

Ipso facto you are a fool!

No I don't expect everything published on the internet to be 100% factual.

CM is a registered MSM newspaper in Cyprus. I expect it to be professional and accurate. It is a professional business after all, with professionally paid journalists.

When you saw the picture on the 'All roads eventually lead to Cyprus' thread did you actually go out to buy a copy of the CM and read the article in full...?

Or did you just click on the link and read it on the Internet.

I'm guessing you just did the latter...

So you are arguing that the Internet be 100% factual. Because you don't know in fact if the copy on the internet even reflected that which was in the actual paper do you?

You are basically arguing with every post that you are too stupid to do your own fact checking!

I just expected another feel good Cyprus story about some high rise construction.

When I was confronted with the link, I read it and thought "hey, wait a minute, that doesn't make sense".

I will critique Australian, American and British publications in the exact same way, because they too publish articles that are inaccurate, are embellished or even downright misleading and unprofessional.

Newspapers are in the public domain and are not immune to criticism. That is the foundation of our democratic system.

A newspaper is responsible for what they publish on their internet sites as well as their newspaper.

It doesn't matter if it is CM, Fileleftheros, Washington Post, New York Times, Sydney Morning Herald or The Guardian.
