Offsets are not the only problem in the sale of Patriot missiles to Turkey

...for the record.

What could you expect from a rogue state?

They have just threatened the US. Where the US goes, so does Britain.

Furthermore, the regime in turkey is supporting and shipping arms to the Muslim brotherhood in Libya to further destabilize the country. they want to get an Islamist puppet in power there. These islamists are currently hostile to the el-sisi government in Egypt and they are already starting to see the consequences of turkeys foreign policy with their neighbor.

I think turkeys goal here is to try and get a puppet in Libya so they can agree to an illegitimate eez between them that will split the eastern med sea off from Western Europe. Also to try and annul Libya’s already agreed eez with Greece.

This is a huge conflict on interest for Britain. I am not certain, but I think this was one of the reasons Britain and France moved to take down the Ottoman Empire. It was to do with control of the east med and sues canal. Among other things.

Basically, turkey has turned all previous relationships with the west in to dirt.

You can never trust the Turks. History shows this.

You are on the mark with your post, Maximus. Turkey always tries to circumvent International Law and the Rule of Law. Turkey can try to establish an EEZ with Libya for the reasons you had mentioned, even if Libya were to cancel it’s EEZ agreements with Greece, the west still have a trump card in their favour to stop Turkey in it’s tracks, and that is for Greece and the RoC to agree on their EEZ, which will leave Turkey very little EEZ of it’s own. No doubt Turkey will threaten war with Greece and RoC in such an event, which is why the Americans are on board for the hydrocarbons security along with Israel.

Isn't it obvious? :?

Here's a source to help you understand...
