And you know why don't you...?

I mean, I hate to say, "I told you so", but I've posted this on this forum numerous times...

No matter how often you deny it, the country voted for Brexit and expect Brexit to be delivered.

Promising to block Brexit like the Lib Dems or having a very fuzzy position on Brexit like Labour just didn't wash with the electorate.

You're in Cyprus CG so not much to loose. For me this is jumping over a cliff with my eyes wide open. 40% of our business is with the EU.

In the past I would dispatch goods to the EU with just an address of the recipient. Now every order has to have customs documents and this declaration and that bit of paper. It'll make life very difficult as far as servicing my European customers is concerned.

Don't be daft...

I've exported all over the world including shipping electronic goods to the US and China...

Exporting to the EU is a piece of piss and if you don't have everything in place already you're a mong and deserve to go out of business...

Plus, lets see how keen the EU is to negotiate a FTA now that Boris is back with a big majority and the threat of WTO back on the table... :D

Of course we have everything in place, we're not a Mickey Mouse outfit but there is time added to every order with this Brexshit. WTO agreements will take years, maybe as long as 10 years per agreement. What do think will happen to the UK economy in that time? There is also the risk of losing a large chunk of the Financial Services. To cut the long story short CG.........we are fucked.

What will happen to the UK economy.

i will tell you. The UK will thrive and destroy the EU by outperforming them because the UK will have cheaper energy cheaper technology and electronics and will engage with the Asia Pacific.

Plus the UK economy will save itself a cool 15 Billion per year.

No, you're fucked because you can't see outside the box...

No, it isn't that is it...? You're afraid to look outside!

Much easier to bleat on and lose your business obviously...

You know, perhaps if you didn't have such typical Remoaner negativity your business might be able to seize the opportunities that Brexit will present you...

Cyprus has had a seismic shift since joining the EU...

Everything is more expensive. 19% VAT apart from anything else... The fuckers cream off 19% of almost everything I spend... Why?

Fuel is much more expensive...

Electricity is going to be even more expensive next year as the EU fines us for having the wrong generators...

I wonder how some Cypriots can even afford to live now.

Everything to do with the EU.

All because they were used on living on a false economy. It feels seismic because they were in a world of their own. Joining the EU was a wake up call for them. They became part of the "real world" by joining.

If the RoC has similarities with north Cyprus then the shit would've hit the fan as soon as they joined. In the north people my age were retired decades ago. If you did 10 years in the army it counted double, that's 20 years. Another 5 years here and there and you got your state pension. Some retired at 35 and then got a second job for some years, and then the 3rd job and now they're picking up 3 pensions. Half of the adult population in the north were picking up pensions by the time they were 40.

I wouldn't be surprised if this went in the RoC until the shit hit the fan.

I fucking hate this 5 posts restriction.

Yes, it is shite... and the "you've just made a fucking post!" restriction...

I'm on about the huge costs that EU membership has lumped on the ordinary citizen...

VAT, fuel the electric... Everything more expensive solely due to EU membership...

And for what in return...?

Oh yes, I can get a parcel shipped from Amazon without having to go to the post office and pay duty on it...

Cyprus would be better off out...

I don’t know why all the premature high 5’s with the Brexit supporters with the win by the Tories. You still have a very divided country and it is not going to heal anytime soon. Add on top, the UK itself my be imploding because Scotland is on record that they want independence from the UK as they want to remain in the EU. Now that Boris has let Northern Ireland to fend for themselves with the EU state Eiré by having the border at Irish Sea, NI too looks like a good candidate to leave the UK. Wales doesn’t have too much to offer to anyone, so it will continue to suck on the UK’s tax payers tits for it’s milk. As for Scotland, they would control all the oil fields in the north.

Let’s see if the high 5’s by the Brexiteers still be there when NI and Scotland leave the Union?

Just like the Brexiteers, I will be doing high 5’s too when NI and Scotland exit what will be left of the UK.

Be careful what you ask for, because you may not like what you might end up with.

Scotland won't leave...

After Brexit they'd have to apply to re-join the EU, accept the €uro and detach themselves from the teat of the English taxpayers - you think they are really going to do that...?

A hard border with England!

You think they want a hard border with their biggest trading partner?

Unless oil suddenly jumps to a billionteen Dollars a barrel, Scotland would be fucked as an independent nation...

And remember, the EU will have a huge hole in its budget - you think it will be able to throw cash at Scotland like it is going out of fashion...? Dream on...

I've said that before, ultimately we'll have to wait and see...

My worst nightmare was another hung parliament - that would have been terrible for the country.

I wanted either: -

a) A big Tory majority so we can get Brexit done and see which side was right about the result...

or...

b) A big Labour majority so we could see if Socialism could actually work for once.

So, I'm really pleased that we got a) and we'll soon find out if it was the best outcome or not.

I think Kikapu's predictions are spot on. Didn't Scotland hold an Independence vote back in 2014? Why would't they hold another one again? NI has already become 3rd party in all this by the sheer fact that I have to fill in all sorts of fucking export forms to my customers there. Brexshit is a nightmare.

If I was Boris I'd give them another vote tomorrow... and the day after...

But I think in the cold light of day they'll realise on which side their bread is buttered...

In fact, I'd let the English have a vote too - they'd be gone by Sunday!

You think it is too fucking difficult to fill in a few forms - how would Scotland manage with a hard border between it and England eh, EH???

Too many fucking smilies this time...
