...compare Egypt,

In Egypt they renovate our churches, they do not convert them into mosques

“I made a comparison, saying how blessed I am because the status of our churches is not changed and they even give the licence almost as soon as I submit a request for renovation.

Not only do I get the licence immediately, but also the State provides assistance for the renovation many times, whatever I need, as has been the case of St. Catherine in Suez and of the Church of St. George which is shown on Egyptian television just like Cyprus’ state channel", says Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa, visiting Cyprus on September 11-18.

"The Turkish government is rapidly converting the Chora Church into a mosque, shortly after the conversion into a mosque of another World Heritage Site, Hagia Sophia.
They installed a drop ceiling, scratched everything out, put plasters on the walls, and painted them in order to cover the wonderful frescoes and mosaics of the church and to erase every Orthodox sign."

...oh when Zaman was Free:
(my comment in reply, quote:)

Wednesday, September 17, 2014
European court tells Turkey to end compulsory religion course,

"If Erdogan seeks to make out of Turkey, the Protector of the Islamic Faith around the world, an Equal in a balance to the Western World, he must consider how Faith has been so successfully sustained, as such; what makes the Jewish/Christian set of States so successful is their vitality, it is not mono-clonal, yet the constant remains, one God.

...isn't it enough that what is left is tiny to what it was, the diversity of a land inhabited long before there was a Turkey? It is said that Istanbul is the site of a new Caliphate, will it be enough to be a loving Person to live there? and if you are Turkish, will you have to be "Turkish" enough?"

https://orthodoxtimes.com/shameful-imag ... -conquest/

Ali Erbas made his mark during the prayer by holding a sword, which is a symbol of conquest, thus upholding the Muslim tradition.

“These celebrations take place at very special moments and they are very important, they unite our hearts and strengthen our brotherhood,” he said in his message.

Moving on, Chalki's doors remain closed.

...let's not forget the plight of the other Christians in Istanbul, or the Kurds and the Alevi, as well as the Jews; so few left, and those that remain live in fear (not being "Turkish").

Is this the cosmopolitan city (like Rome) it was, or having evolved, a large village afraid of those not ''them''; what is a Caliphate in the Modern World?

What is there to worry about, sooner or later AKP and Erdogan will be gone and it will return to being what it was before.

Prophet Mohammed, (peace be upon him) commands Muslims to protect and preserve Churches, synagogues, temples etc..not convert them to mosques.

In fact, on the day of judgement, the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) will plead on behalf of non-Muslims who were oppressed in any way by Muslims.

It sounds like Turkey is destined to go to hell to me.
