All those 130+ Republicans from the senate and the House seeking to illegally overturn the election need to be removed and their seats to have newly elected replacements. There needs to be penalty for those not honouring their oath to the constitution by kicking them out and prevent them ever taking part in future elections to governmental institutions.

What is the 14th Amendment? Congress mulls legislation to remove those who 'engaged in insurrection'

Amid the continuing fallout from last week’s deadly siege on the U.S. Capitol, Democrats are forging ahead with legislation to remove Republican lawmakers for inciting the riot.

While there has been focus on President Trump’s possible impeachment and the use of the 25th Amendment to remove him from office, some House Democrats say they will invoke the 14th Amendment to call for the removal of Trump and congressional Republicans who helped incite the insurrection through their push to invalidate the results of the 2020 presidential election.

“If we allow insurrection against the United States with impunity, with no accountability, we are inviting it to happen again,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” Sunday.

What is the 14th Amendment?

The 14th Amendment was adopted just after the Civil War to set terms for the readmission of former Confederate states into the Union.

What does it say?

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment says no elected official “shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion”:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

As some of our friend here who are not bothered by the invasion of the Capitol Hill last week by traitors against the constitution, instigated by Trump and all of his enablers in and out of the Banana Republican Party to try to steal the election by an angry mob, the election he had lost by a landslide. Fortunately, many institutions in and out of the USA are taking the insurrection of the Capitol Building far more seriously that our friends here and are ready to punish the guilty financially by refusing to do any business with Trump or give financial donations to the members of the Banana Republican Party. :D

what I might add is that the punks on the left also damaged lots of government property and innocent people's too.

It is just that the democratic officials looked the other way while it was happening.

They would rather help them by trying to defund the police.

Unfortunately you’re being deceptive again Max… because lots of the punks you mention were arrested and some still serving sentences, and I don’t have the time to go over each and every incident to prove it to you.

The root of the problem is that you are sore because your favorite political party has screwed itself proper; severely weakened in every avenue, and no doubt you’ve realized that it’ll take ages for it to recover.

But you can only blame them for hiring a narcissistic TV prima donna to represent them in 2016… and that’s when the downfall began.

Max is correct.

The fascists have won the election. They call the Republicans the fascists but the real fascists are the Democrats pure and simple.

The looted and plundered America for months and turned entire suburbs into little versions of Mogadishu.

The Republicans can only get stronger from here and I have a feeling they will romp it in at the next election because Biden is going to be a massive fuck up.

What some Republican supporters did on Capitol Hill was a reaction to everything the Democrats have done in the last 4 years and there could be more to come. Trump has just declared a State Emergency till the 24th because he fears armed insurrection. The potential for it is very real. And America has never been closer to civil war.

That’s the danger for the Republicans. That and the fact that the Party May splinter but when it comes to the crunch, they can splinter all they like but the 2 factions will have no choice but to go into a coalition of convenience rather than let the Democrats have a free ride.

Right now, a war is being waged against Republican supporters on social media and in real life. The MSM, and big tech have fed you all lies after lies. And you all are complicit in the injustice.

Biden will need to start meeting with the Pentagon immediately and get something started ASAP after he assumes power.

If America is going to survive, they need a big war to unite over.

It’s a pretty sad state of affairs now that America’s survival may hinge on it creating a war or 2 to divert attention internationally and more important divert attention on the home front. Iran just resumed uranium enrichment as well. So there is the trigger.

This is what the Democrats have bought upon the world. They made that bed and now they have to lie in it.

This is nothing new,

Supporters of the democratic party, wherever they have some power and influence are continuing their cancel culture against republicans.

Like they have been for the past 4 years.

from places like college campuses to social media platforms and the mainstream media. And they would even go as so far as to create a twitter style witch hunt to get people fired from their jobs because the disagree with their opinions.

You think this is good? It is more Erdogan's style and this has contributed massively to dividing the country.

Things like capitol hill were to be anticipated but probably worse to come if the dems keep push further. Impeaching trump will probably end in disaster,

I think that once again you’re talking shit Max… because you speak as though people go to work or study with a “GOP” or “DEM” written on their foreheads!

Those who are dumb enough to advertise their political preferences at work or during study are an overwhelming minority.

no not talking shit.

You think but you dont know.

its absolutely true that people have been fired from their jobs, under pressure from leftists because of the views they have aired.

its absolutely true that leftist have been cancelling people from social media platforms because of their views.

its absolutely true that academics have been cancelled from college campus's because of their views.

Here GR, One example, 3 years ago,

This was happening up and down america on college campuses over the years.

members of the political left would riot before events to make them unsafe and get people cancelled because they dont agree with their views.

At other places, they would attend the lectures conducted by conservative speakers just to disrupt it so no one could hear what they had to say.

Im surprised you are unaware of this.

democracy only exists for the dems when you agree with their views..

Slowly, the left chipped away at any conservative "influencer" with the objective to silence them.
