The vast majority of rules concern civil behavior with other members plus facilitating proper and meaningful debate. And they are of course a reflection of what happens in the society.

The obligatory use of the English language is because this forum was made to bring together Greek Turkish and other Cypriots who can speak English so that they could understand each other. So yes this rule is also a reflection of that part of the Cypriot Society. Which of course you violate ad nauseam.

Even the rule concerning ads is directly linked to what happens in the Society. Imagine a conference between Greek and Turkish Cypriots where a participant distributes leaflets of discount stores!
