Zelensky, and his incompetent generals have probably never heard of the popular idiom…
“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!”In the past few months and after the Kursk debacle has ended, there’s been a surge of constant Ukrainian suicidal infiltrations of Russian territories (Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk) this time by very small, lightly armed groups that can only have one possible thing in mind… to kidnap civilians to be used in future POW swaps!
We know that because there’s nothing of strategic value in these areas close to the border. If you keep going through the marshes and forests you’ll eventually come across settlements and villages of low income people predominantly preoccupied with agriculture and basic farming.
There are no Russian military installations to take out… there’s really nothing interesting there other than peasants toiling the land for their daily bread.
I’ve come across a few dozen reports of such infiltration attempts lately and most of the times the result is the same… Ukrainian soldiers are losing their lives in the hope of capturing some civilians which can be hopefully used three months down the line to exchange with Ukrainian POWs!
It makes zero sense to me… why risk losing able-bodied Ukrainian soldiers for a future swap with POWs that have been incarcerated for so long that they have probably forgotten how to fight, have by now lost the will to fight, and will probably require psychological support to readjust to society?
Are some of those incarcerated in Russian POW camps so precious to Zelensky that they are worth such sacrifices?
Are there any NATO trainers and/or other formerly “embedded” valuable staff of the West languishing in Russian prisons that the West is desperate to liberate with such suicidal missions at no cost to the West?
It wouldn’t be the first time the Ukraine was coaxed into disastrous missions… ones that you would never send your own men into, but only if you saw such men as expendable!
What the hell is going on… or is it a case of a daft and incompetent dictatorial regime unfamiliar with the well known idiom?
