...i would like a comparison of civilian deaths to soldiers, a comparison of infrastructure lost to weaponry expended would be enlightening as well.

Yes, everyone will be happy, the "Ukrainians", the "Russians", the "Americans", with the Ukraine divided, everyone but the rest of us who value Universal Principals and who are the victims of "Their" extremes will be happy.

Does it remind you of Cyprus? It should; it is the same Problem: plunder. In all this, who are (read: will be) the victims in all this but those not "Them", Russian, Greek, Turkish, or Ukrainian?

What do you have when your opponent doesn't stop fighting?

I'll tell you what you have. You have an opponent that is impossible to defeat.

It should be very obvious now that Ukraine will not surrender. They are defending their country. As such, it appears they will not stop or surrender.

Mariupol, only stands to motovate Ukraine. You have 1000 or so Ukrainian Soldiers in the steel works, which could have surrendered. But it appears the are fighting to the death. In other words, they will become martyrs to spur the rest of the Ukrainian Military on.

During the battle of Long Tan, there were 108 Australian Soldiers up against 10,000 Viet Cong. Hopeless odds. The Commanding Officer asked his soldiers. Do we surrender, or do we fight? The Australian Soldiers decided to fight. In the end, more than 4000 Viet Cong were killed and the rest fleed with their lives when the Australians and Americans started napalming the entire area.

Around 30 Australian soldiers were killed.

This is what you have in Ukraine. You have a side that won't give up. And you have a Russian Offensive in total dissaray and meltdown.

Russia can't fight forever. Ukraine can and will fight on till the day Russia withdraws in defeat.

Happy Freedom Day to Kharkiv! :D

This is very interesting way Ukraine is paying back her friends. Very nice indeed

KYIV (Reuters) -
Ukraine will not reopen the suspended Sokhranovka gas transit route from Russia to European customers until Kyiv obtains control over its gas transit system, the head of the system's operator GTSOU told Reuters on Thursday.

Well it looks like all the pundits were wrong.

Russia had no victory to claim but at the same time have not declared war on Ukraine.

But didn't he look like such a sad and miserable character. I mean cheer up Pootin. Smile! take a chill pill. Life isn't so bad.

Well who am I to say? He has lost all credibility. Losing a war and NATO is expanding like never before or at least since the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

With regard to all the ships the Russian Navy is losing in the Black Sea, it appears that Russian soldiers have a bad tobacco smoking habit setting their ships alight by accident. It's either that or all Russian ships and boats had this amazing upgrade last year turning them all into submarines. :D

But we mustn't be so hard on Pootin. I mean who could blame him for his miscalculation?

He thought the west would not unite against them. Well, it looks like Russia won't be invading anyone else anytime soon.

He can't presume inaction on the part of the west anymore. That, and his realisation that his military isn't good enough to defeat Ukraine let alone be a worthy opponent to NATO.

RIP Russia and Pootin... :D

Russia just got nuked, metaphorically. Hoisted by its own petard! What a glorious thing. Couldn't happen to a better bloke.

Well, this is where you are right and wrong Paphitis.

Yes, Russia cannot have an endless fight to gain ground because it is not just fighting Ukraine, but NATO also.

However, if Russia”s goal is to cut off Ukraine from the Black Sea completely which is what I believe it to be the goal from the beginning and capture enough land from the coast to inland, then Russia will stop advancing and then start digging in to defend the territory it has gained instead, and that they can do forever if they so wish.

The problem with the western narrative has always been Russia wanting to capture all of Ukraine in two days, and since that did not happen, Russia has lost the war. Really? :D

I guess these people were in the same room in the Kremlin when these war plans were drawn!

Did they ever think that Putin has been playing mind games with the west all along, which is to say one thing and do the other.

I guess Churchill laid out his Normandy landing plans with the rest of Germany before launching it!

Come on people, these people in the western media, politicians and the so called military experts are mostly talking out of their backsides along with Zelensky. It is painful to my brain listening to these idiots having a propaganda love fest amongst themselves with their make believe stories to the uninformed as they are relying on people’s patriotism to the west so that they can sell their fairytale stories to them.
