What's going on at Azovsal seems to me reminiscent of Thermopylae or Rorke's Drift. Surely, a lesson to the Russians on how tenacious Ukrainian fighters will be?

It is exactly Thermopylae. History repeating itself. These extremely brave 1000 or so Ukrainian Soldiers are spurring Ukrainians on. None of us can even imagine how important their struggle is. With each day they survive and hold out, as the rest of the country looks on, can only motivate the Ukrainian Military and People, and lift their morale further. Should they all die one by one, Ukraine now has no choice but to never allow their selfless sacrifice be in vain.

They are exactly, of the same mindset of the original 300 Spartans. These 1000 Ukrainian soldiers deserve such a comparison and more.

There is no victory for Russia in Mariupol.

Mariupol is a victory for Ukraine, because there are 1000 Ukrainian Soldiers fighting to the death and they are still to this very day, holding firm.

I predicted their demise some weeks ago, but to my astonishment, these guys are fighting to the death. Incredible. And should they fall either tomorrow, or next week, or next month, victory is still their's because their sacrifice and martydom can only inspire the Ukraine Military and people.

Ukraine is going to be a bloodbath for the Russian Military.

Welcome to hell invaders!

It looks like Ukraine is going to fight this out to the very end. Meanswhile, Russia is headed for bankruptcy.

Gotta give it to these Russians…this thing has been a resounding success for them from day one. Now that these military capabilities they’ve been showboating so long have now been tested on live tv you kinda get the feeling that NATO is breathing a little easier these days. Ukraine’s been a free test drive for the west.

Makes you wonder if they ever did push a button for nukes whether their missile silo would just let out a ppfffffftttt and the screws would fall off.

Clearly things can't be that bad in Ukraine if they participate in the Eurovision contest.
Last time I watched this show was when Brotherhood of man attended. The skirts situation was very clever.

This contest has been politicized long time ago. Clearly it has nothing to do with talent whatsoever as proven again last night, not that I ever watch it. :D

I just think it is incredible that considering what the civilians are suffering that they would consider even mentioning it never mind attending.

There are those who look down at the Russian Army's war effort. People forget the Americans with all their firepower could not subdue the Taliban and run away from the battle. They also did the same in South Vietnam.

The Ukrainian Army is a trained army of substantial proportions and add to that the fact that the west is supporting them militarily and you begin to understand the difficulties.

Let's reverse it though. When it comes to recapturing land, it will be reversed. it seems to me the only time Ukrainian have managed to get land back is when the Russians had withdrawn.

This war looks like it will last a very long time. They will be hosting the Eurovision next year and I suspect this war will not be over.
